Thread: Where is the extra £800 on this Panerai?

Where is the extra £800 on this Panerai?

I was just browsing the Panerai website and, as I rather like the California dial, narrowed down my imaginary purchase to two watches: The 424 and the 448.

As far as my amateur eyes can see, they’re identical aside from the OP logo on one, and blue hands on the other. But there is £800 between them and I can’t figure out why!

No idea but the cheaper watch is better looking to my eye
I like the blue hands and lack of logo.
It’s more of an honest homage to the original 3646s.

One difference is Sapphire vs Plexi ( 424 has sapphire)

IIRC the 448 was a limited edition of 750 units that was produced in 2012. Not sure if any would still be available at retail

The 424 just 'works better' for me and is worth the £800 'upgrade'...

Is there a Spanish 'gold doubloon' hidden inside?

That’s what I love about this model(s). Big plain and simple. Classic look.
