Mariana Trench - Third Successful Dive - Record Broken

Couldn't see any reference to this but evidently, a third successful dive to the depths of the Mariana Trench has just been completed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-48230157

Just done the maths, and the pressure at the bottom they experienced was around 1100 bar or 16000 psi.

... and I was already shocked when I picked up a Lidl bag a few miles out on the sea near Plymouth. Go figure.

Dutch fishing vessels have those 'big bags' from building sites on deck for the collection of waste they find in their nets. Every week, every ship brings in 1 or 2 bags filled with junk.

Planet Ocean chrono. There's a big Omega logo on the side of the sub and you can see the watch in the third pic in the BBC link.
