Help me- would you buy from Jura?

    Hello guys,

I am looking for a versatile, solid, quiet GMT watch and I always wanted to try a Grand Seiko.

    Would you buy this:

    https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collec...sport-sbgn005g

I think they offered a competitive price of £2600 including courier delivery

Grand Sieko isn't my thing so can't really comment on the watch, but in terms of Jura as a company I've used them a few times for buying straps and their customer service has been fantastic

Bought from them back when they had the shop opposite the Burlington Arcade. Since they've moved to online I believe after-sales service can be hit and miss, but I'd buy from them again if the price was right. Just don't hold your breath for the free watch winder..

I bought a new Seiko Save the Ocean Turtle from them last July and service was great.

Have used them twice without issue. Very efficient. Pm me if you're buying... I've a code for £50 off anything over £200.

I have bought from them and have had both good and bad experiences. I would however advise caution when it says ‘click here to be notified when X is in stock’ etc as you could be waiting forever.

    I wouldn't.

Used them twice and no issues at all. I guess like all shops you'll get good and bad stories. But as you're buying online easy enough to send back.

Nope. Two bad incidents with them that they tried everything to wiggle out of

Used once, had a warranty issue which was sorted very quickly and without hassle.

Out of interest, how did they offer £2600 when the price on the website is £2900?
Nice watch, I would definitely consider it!!

So I went for it! They offered me a discounted price on the watch and courier delivery ..
will report when it lands in luxembourg 🇱🇺
What strap should I put it on for my world tour starting in July? Don’t want to keep it on the bracelet, that would make it a bit too ‘visible’, if you know what I mean.
I thought of a nice Canvas, or distressed leather. Don’t really like Natos...
Any thoughts? It is 19mm, if I read right..

A nice Kudu would go well with the dial.

    GS

I got a fantastic price from Dominic Hackett from Hackett watches for a Grand Seiko SBGA231 which is on its way from Japan as there wasn’t any UK stock. It’s from a UK AD in my name etc etc so no grey market. Bought from Dom before so no worries with his service. Might not help you now but may help save some money for others reading this.

I would use them without hesitation - they have a number of retail shops trading as CW Sellors, most of which are geographically quite near to me as is their Head Office in Derbyshire.
In my experience they have been reliable, helpful and courteous and a better bet than the big retailers.

Refunds can be a problem I hear if you are unsure, certainly if buying from a shop where you have seen it before purchase.

I bought my Doxa through them on a quoted delivery time of two weeks - it turned up 5 months later!

It was not Jura’s fault - the factory couldn’t get hold of Soprod movements for ages - no idea why...

The only thing that bugged me a little was how poor they were at keeping me informed.
