Classic cars in USA...More pics added.

I love American cars of the 50's and 60's.

I've just got back from the US where we had a run out to a show.

The pics are taken by my wife on her phone but I hope you'll get the general gist.

70's Buick, not sure which model.

That supercharged V8 VW looks like it could be a bit of a Q Car!

    Loads of 60's mustangs.

    Tasty Chevelle SS

    A rather pimp-ish 70's Chevy Monte Carlo

    A 350 SS

This GTO was gorgeous, in a very rare colour.

I'm looking pretty puzzled as to what this is supposed to be!

An Edsel, a failure for Ford but I quite like them.

This Studebaker Avanti is a rare car - and gorgeous!

Z28 Camaro. My son has the modern version.

    Beautiful late 50's Chevy.

    Another Edsel.

My son's favourite style Corvette. I prefer the earlier ones.

    Olds Cutlass. Very tough.

    Early 70's Ford Torino

    Beautiful 62 Dodge

    Stacked headlight Galaxie.

    Another SS Chevelle. Very popular.

    That Galaxie from the side.

    I've no idea!

    Firebird.

    'Vette.

A humble Ford Falcon - but still looks gorge.

    Show winner, 57 Chevy.

    Customised old Chevy trucks

    Stop Press.
Just found some more pics including that gorgeous Catalina...

    Another '60's Mustang!

    Another Vette!

    Wow, gorgeousness overload.

THere's something funny about this one. Can't quite put my finger on it though.

I just realised I had some pics of a gorgeous Pontiac Catalina but they seem to have disappeared.

I'll see if I can find them.
    Cheers,

    Classic cars in USA...

We had that model, in that colour when we were in NYC.

    Great thread, thanks for sharing.

I do love the old Yank Tanks, but they are totally impractical for UK roads (I spotted an old Cadillac at Tesco a few weeks ago taking up two whole car park spaces)

I might be getting old, but of all that stunning metal on show I am inexplicably drawn to the old Chevy side-step trucks.

I also like a lot of older US cars and trucks but not the hot rods. I recall watching an episode of Counting Cars when they did a 1950 Chevy truck for a teacher. Stunning thing (aside from being slammed too low for me):

Great photos, but have to say - a lot of the colour schemes don't depict the models in their best light.

A great day out, for sure.

    The Pontiac GTO for me.

The weird looking one, looks like newish Chevy (possible Firebird) with a 57/8 Chevy Front and rear end applied - the donor also looks as if the screen racked and chopped. Not horrible, but not my thing.

Superb stuff. Didnt a ZZTop video once have one of those slammed Chevy trucks in? In fact, a few of their vids had some nice stuff in as I recall. Must be a fair few $’s worth in that lot !!

My younger brother has a small collection of "American classics" he accumulated over the past ten years or so, mostly from high-end auctions held around the U.S. Here is his current stable. I took the GTO photos, but I think the others were taken by the sellers.

1941 Willys Coupe (new) with Chevy 502 "crate" motor:

1969 Ford Mustang with 427 Ford "racing" engine:

1972 Ford Pantera GT (heavily upgraded):

    1967 Pontiac GTO:

    1949 Buick Roadmaster Convertible:

Some lovely cars on here. Had a ‘71 Monte Carlo and a ‘76 Firebird Trans Am back in the day.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Lovely indeed. That Roadmaster looks gorgeous and I expect the Mustang’s power was, er, sufficient!

Lovely collection. Your brother likes black doesn't he?

A friend of mine had the same model GTO in red, a monster.

    That Roadmaster is gorgeous.

A birth-year Mustang. That would do very nicely! :) Think its aged better than me!

Some lovely cars there, sounds like you had a good trip.

Never knowingly seen a Cutlass before, I think that is my pick of the bunch.

Pacifichrono's brother's 'stang looks like great fun too.

Just shown this thread to my wife, we now have a list longer than my arm and she has yet to reveal the location of the money tree I will need to harvest, thanks for the stunning pics, bring memories of Saturday night cruise meetings in Kissimmee.

Loving these photos. I come across a few classic cars on my travels round Europe. Last weekend had an old Mustang next to me at the retail outlet at Roermond. Been to the Maastricht classic car event last year which had a lot of American cars and was at the Paris classic car event earlier on this year too.
