Here’s my take on it as someone who has bought lots of Rolex over the years, and has known to be somewhat ocd.
There is also a white card sleeve that goes over the cardboard cream coloured box. I don’t mind the odd dirty mark on that, but I like the actual cardboard cream box (pictured) to be in good condition. When I receive it I also make sure I keep it in good condition too.
All the above is assuming it’s a brand new purchase from the AD and not used.
That’s my take on it and if I got a brand new Rolex that the outer box was marked and in the condition pictured, I’d just politely ask for a different one at the time.
