    Criminal injuries compensation

Was on a family break in Wales last weekend at a haven site. Was attacked from behind by someone outside the main club last thing Friday night, had severe bruising around my brain and was transferred to stoke on trent nuro ward, spent three days in there and have now been sent home. Specialist has advised me that will need at least a month off work and so will the wife to look after me. Looking on the gov website its telling me I will need to be off work at least 28 weeks I think before I can claim for loss of my earnings and the wife's. Was wondering if anyone on here as any advice or has had similar experience in this matter. Any help or advice would be most welcome. Ie is there another way around claiming for both earnings etc, thanks in advance

Unless it's changed in the last 11 years we found it a very long drawn out process that took several months to complete and nearing a year to compensate. I guess it's always going to be and they're not going to hand over sums of money wilynilly.
One of the hardest things we found was having to explain to them on paper how much the incident had changed the lives of all involved when they could have read the report from the CPS and police etc.
Good luck and glad to hear you're on the mend.
There truly are some bastards in this world.

    Interesting.

    Well played Raffe.

OP, sorry to hear about this. Thankfully your thread hasn't been derailed.
