Ideas for things to do in Neuchatel

I'm going to be in Neuchâtel and La Chaux de Fonds on a couple of training courses over the summer (for a total of 8 weeks) and will need to find something to do to fill my evenings and weekends.
So if anyone has any suggestions for places to eat, things to see or do? I would appreciate a few pointers.

Ian - I expect a full report on the goings on at the Bikini Test facility!

As I only did a day-trip I can't really say that I explored much outside of the main museum. I understand that Girard Perregaux have a museum that is invitation-only and other manufacturers may offer the same. As you know, rail connections work very well in that part of the world and you could get to Bienne very easily. If you're passing by Bern I can give you a couple of tips.

I trust you've seen this thread?

I'm out in La Chaux de Fonds next week and had pencilled in the horology museum to keep me busy on the Saturday morning, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I do want to see the Omega museum but I think I will leave that till I'm in Neuchâtel next month, direct train, closer and 3 weekends to kill

I stopped at this place for lunch when we were passing through in January https://www.fermedrozditbusset.ch/ it was very good (especially the absinthe crème brulee) so I think this may be getting another visit.

Turns out the Bikini Test is a live music venue so that may not be a bad idea for the Friday night, thank you for that.

Excuse the rubbish quality but I thought I should add some pictures from the last trip.

The watch museum was worth a visit (unfortunately the phone wasn't up to taking decent pictures)

There is a little second hand shop just over the road from the museum that had some cool bits (was sadly closed on the day I visited)

La Chaux de Fonds is boring as hell but I highly recommend this place to eat. Aside from the food being incredible it's a meeting point of all the top people in the industry.

I'll need to check that out, thanks for the suggestion.
Ohh and you are not wrong about La Chaux de Fonds being dull
