Partial SOTC with some disjointed rarity ramblings

Thought i'd post up a partial SOTC of a few bits I'm lucky enough to own, and omitting the common stuff everyone has seen before.
It won't be everyone cup of tea, I'm fairly certain there's a reason some stuff I own is "rare"

    Why start with Daytona?
The reason is I've had a few conversations about how "rare" a Daytona really is, and it was mentioned there's probably more Ceramic Daytonas in the world than there are of the total number produced of some of the things I own, so it makes sense despite it being a serially produced watch.

For a long time I refused to own one despite ample opportunities to buy (yes, I have genuinely turned down steel Daytonas multiple times), not because its a bad watch but because it lives on ridiculous pedestal along with alot of nonsense/hype (and if anything is a turn off to me it's hype).

Granted I own one now, which came about after seeing it on an Everest strap (yup, bought the strap too, and I feel it looks great on the wrist)

Now onto things that we don't see as often as we should.

The central theme being, you could get all of the watches ever produced below, and possibly there would still be less of them than the total number of ceramic Daytonas produced lol

Before we get on the with numbered series ones, a few extremely low production numbers that the chances of seeing another one in the wild is unlikely

(sorry for the lack of a story... it's gonna be pics from now on)

    Zenith Pilot Doublematic

H.Moser & Cie Pioneer Center Seconds

H.Moser & Cie Endeavour Perpetual Calendar, "Black Editon" and Rose Gold

Now onto those that are truely limited:

Seiko Presage Cocktail Time "Starlight" (1 of 1300)

Zenith El Primero Cronometro Tipo CP-2 (1 of 1000)

Panerai PAM00913 Luminor London Boutique Edition (1 of 100)

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tribute to Milspec (1 of 500)

Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving Alarm Navy Seals Beverly Hills Boutique Incursion Edition (1 of 62)

H.Moser & Cie Endeavour Center Seconds "Purple Haze" (1 of 20)

Nice selection; I’ve owned two of them, the black ceramic Daytona and the Zenith CP2. Against the grain, I preferred (and still prefer) the CP2. Which cost less than a third as much. Lunacy.
Enjoyed the Moser models too, but if I could afford one it would be that Mil Spec Blancpain. Good looking, rare, right size. Lovely blue on the Presage too.

Excellent watches. I particularly like the Purple Haze, a classic case of 'less is more'.
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

    Great pics Mike
Milspec and the Moser Pioneer the pick of the bunch as I'm not a big fan of complications but a great collection and very "partial " knowing what else you have.

Lovely collection of watches you own there
The Zenith is a watch I will have to try at some point, and Moser is a brand I’ve yet to try and they just look so good and the centre secs pioneer is beautiful I guess it won’t be too long before I dip my toe.

It's an interesting comparison ceramic Daytona vs CP-2, since they were both launched in 2016 (albeit the Zenith had a weird press embargo till October. Only thing on my mind was is there any more info on this mystery military re-isssue.
All being equal, its hard for me to choose between the two, aesthetically the CP-2 wins, better lume and I love hearing the El Primero whirring away, but I find the Daytona wears just that little bit better,

Brilliant buys on the secondary market, and even as someone who paid list in 2016... i still think it's a great buy.

funnily enough, I've been asked a few timess "why have two identical watches?"
I'ts a tad excessive, but I really really like the PC in terms of functionality and wear ability. it means

I remember seeing that Moser Pioneer in the flesh at a gtg. I still think it's one of the most beautiful versatile watches out there. Awesome collection!

Actually suprises me that people like the JLC since it's so different from their dressier stuff (reverso/memovox/polaris)
I think the "Navy Seals" range are underrated watches, and this one has a wonderful alarm to offset the very silly name.

    Ta!
I like that strap alot, although what it goes on seems to horrify people for some reason!
At least i've spared everyone's eyesight, the neon blue gator or purple are an aquired taste

Cheers! In all fairness the Lange you brought along was stunning!
    That was an amusing gtg!

I wish I could answer that,
I never wanted a tourbillon until i tried on the Endeavour torubillon, and then discovered there's a one off blood red fumé dial (turns out a deep purple dial too)

But if I was to get another, a Green flying hours would be the one, i really like the way the dial looks in the flesh!

Unless, of course they do a purple haze version.
