    New CW Trident

No doubt a few have got the launch email, but for those that haven't:

    https://www.christopherward.co.uk/co...nt3-collection

Actually, I think they've fixed a lot of the things I didn't really like about the last Trident and now available in 40mm it is very tempting. A little disappointed 40mm is made only in black but i assume its a "toe-in-the-water" to see if there really is demand for it outside the perception of enthusiasts.

I'd buy now, except it would annoy me when the inevitable voucher comes along to take £100 off...

I like them. It's a handsome watch and a decent price when those inevitable discounts come.

Been considering the 38mm GMT in blue myself.

There is currently a code for £100 off - 100SUN19 - which works on the new models.

I think they are an improvement and nearly bought the GMT yesterday in 38mm. If it was available in 40mm I think I would have gone for it. For the price bracket (ignoring the bigger brands) I see them as a good alternative to a Monta Oceanking. The quick release bracelet is a nice addition too.

I think you're right - a GMT at 40mm would be impossible to ignore - the colour of the GMT hand gives it that little bit of lift it needs.

What are CW watches like in the hand? They look smart enough, but the price is creeping higher... Are they better watches than other brands in the price point? I'm asking as I'm intrigued, they look nice although not particularly unique.

I'm not sure if I like how often CWard updates their watches. Sure they are bounds and leaps from their range a few years ago. However they have quite drastic changes between iterations as well.

I prefer the older C60 hour hand for example.

I’ve owned 3 C60 trident pros and a C65 Classic. They are leaps and bounds ahead of a Longines Hydroconquest and other mid tier Swiss. The quality extends to their bracelets and straps.

I like the look of this GMT 38mm in Blue.
Wish it was a couple of hundred pounds cheaper.

How about compared to Steinhart and Oris? I I guess I perceive CW as on a par with Steinhart for quality (which I think is excellent for the cost), and probably as much watch as more recognised brands like Oris... Just without the recognition (but without some of the cost, so better value perhaps)
I haven't seen one in the flesh though so... Dunno.

Liking the lumed bezel and microadjust bracelet. If they came out with the GMT in titanium - I won't be able to resist anymore..

I think it is a good update from the previous model. Have been to their showroom and felt the 38 was too small and 42 too large. 40mm is a nice inclusion to the range. Nobody has mentioned the 4 letter L Word yet, but that still does make it un-buyable for me!

LOSS and LOGO both have 4 letters - and they both add up to the same thing

I have this one, although the case has darkened a lot since this was taken. I'm happy with the watch.

    Was that the last model?

I had a couple of early C60s and wouldn't rate them on a par with my HC, let alone leaps and bounds ahead.

The C60s are gone, the Longines remains.

I think they're pushing upmarket now and that's reflected in the pricing.

Before a C60 was a decent, affordable watch, it's in tougher company now, at RRP at least...
