Lovely trio!
There’s almost 40 years between these Sea Dwellers. I can’t pick a favourite as they all have something nice about them.
Lovely trio!
Very Nice Vintage, perhaps one should add a Deepsea to boot
RIAC
1665 is just beautiful, ever thought about trying to find a set of hands with similar patina? I know they would cost some but it would finish off that watch perfectly.
Always liked the 16600 too, modern classic that is sure to rise further.
Beautiful!
Thanks for the nice comments it’s appreciated.
Missed out on a deep blue but not looking to buy anything at the moment.
Yes, a handset would be nice so it all matches. Problem is that I’d have to buy them and hope they matched the plots. It may look close in a pic but when fitted might be slightly off.
Cracking trio. The vintage SD has so much charm and warmth for a dive watch. Very jealous!
Wonderful, my favourite is the 4000ft with white writing. Really wish I'd bought one of them. I might get one when I sell.my IWC.

Nice watches. Good lord the modern one is a big boy isn't he!
I'm a huge Seadweller fan and have limited myself to the modern ceramic versions so far, but I'm looking more and more at getting into vintage models.
This is my only photo to hand so there're a couple of interlopers...
I'm a fan too,wearing my 1991 SD today.
It would be like picking your favourite child! For purely WIS reasons I'd with far left. For practical reasons I'd go with middle.
After owning 13 different Rolex models since the early 2000's Sea-Dweller 16600 was the "ultimate" model for me. It represents everything good in the Rolex brand.
16600 owner here but I'd also like a 16660.
The 1665 looks lovely but I think I'd prefer hands that were ever so slightly off than clearly non matching. Understand the reluctance to change without being sure though .
I bought a vintage watch a while back without knowing the second hand had glowing lume when all the other tritium is dead. I try not to look at it in the dark as it bothers me but I'll have to get it removed when serviced.

Hi all…..….New to the forum, been reading for a while but this is my first ever post.
Got my first Rolex in 2000 (GMT Master 2 – 16710) and have worn it just about every day since. Been wanting to get another SS Rolex for years but for whatever reason, have never pulled the trigger and am now regretting it as it’s going to cost a lot more money. Contenders include the usual suspects, SS Daytona and the GMT Batman/Pepsi but I can’t be arsed with the wait and don’t want to pay the premium to a grey dealer so I’m now looking at a Sea Dweller.
Not a massive fan of the new 126600, so I’m looking at the 116600 or the 16600. I know the 116600 got discontinued in 2017, but does anybody know whether you could still get hold of a new 116600? People who own both the 16600 and 116600, your thoughts on both of the watches and which way I should go?
Id go with the 16600 as I think they are the next ones to jump up in price in line with the others. I can’t understand why they are priced as they are, as imo they are a true classic and well proportioned compared to the newer models.
All personal taste Ofc, get one while you can at a sensible price.
There are way, way more 16600s out there compared to 116600s. This partly explains the price difference - supply and demand. The 116600 also had a very short production run for a Rolex and has become a bit of a collectible.
There's no chance of getting one new from an AD, but you can probably pick one up "unworn". However, if you're going to wear it you'd be wasting your money paying the unworn premium. Buy a lightly used one :)
I have owned a triple 6 and a 16600, but the one which I kept is my 1665 Rail. Just the best especially with its super dome Plexy.

I really hate this forum sometimes. I've just gone and bought a 16600!

Congrats!
You can read my review of the watch while you're waiting to get it. Maybe it helps. :)

I’m on the dreaded wait list for a new explorer, but am getting more and more tempted to get a Sea Dweller. Somewhat stuck on what to go for! I think I’m most fond of the 16600, but always fancied a birth year watch, which would be a later 16660. Both seem pretty available 👍🏻 Any opinions are welcomed.
Lovely collection!
I am a fan of SD’s and would love to get a great white plus a red from my birth year. Maybe one day.
