A few years back I bought a few from Silvermans - they were £5 each. Wish that I had bought a few more now! Think that I will email them.
It's a bit of a tight ass move, those tins must cost them next to nothing but have a genuine history. It isn't as if they haven't put prices up enough of late either.
I'd be really disappointed spending upwards of £500 and receiving one of those crappy boxes, the tins may be crap but they have genuine military significance, those boxes are like cheap generic jewellery items in tkmaxx.

I'm in total agreement with you there.
The last tins I bought (cant recall when that was) were £5
This time they were £15. Each.
They say that they have a limited few in stock and wont be getting more.
Their customer service might be excellent but their decision making on this kind of thing is poor. I know from my experience in business that you have to be very careful about nurturing your brand image. The tins have become synonymous with CWC watches and it's what most buyers expect. To save a few pennies by switching to cheap and nasty cardboard boxes is an error of judgement in my view.

I'm not quite sure what I find so compelling about fixed lugs.
More info on the Pulsar here (scroll down):

As I understand it both the civilian and military versions are becoming harder to find and prices are rising for the latter.
They pop up regularly on mwrforum and WUS, not quite so often here. Ebay as well with the usual caveats
Prices may keep going up. Bit like Seiko 7a28's which you could pick up for peanuts not that long ago but now are getting quite expensive
Great information thanks.
Read both the links above.
Off to look at eBay as I’m not on the mwforum or WUS...
Liking these additions, but can I make a prediction? In three months time only the RN Diver will remain
Ha ha!
You know me too well
I am wearing the Pulsar most days. The G10 I've only worn twice and I doubt will get much use at all - however it would be best to keep it as I am compelled to buy another whenever I sell one.
Your right though- the RN Diver needs to remain whatever happens as I really cant afford to keep replacing these!

Did you sell the Pulsar? Seems like such a good complement to the RN diver. The Lost Boy is nice, though. I’m eager to see what you’ll pick up next!
No, I'm wearing it as I type this!

The numbers are creeping up Ian, but that's what we do. Just pretend that you have never heard of SC

That escalated suddenly. I thought you were a 3 pieces or less collector these days.
Always with some surprises ;)
Really liking the Tiger Sub/BB Ian;
Just had a quick blimp of their site, lots of options there to get the ‘build’ you want. What are the prices like?
I regard the CWC's as the essentials - the others are just additional fun
In order of preference:
1. RN Diver / T20 (tie for first place)
2. G10
3. Vostok (nostalgia)
4. Tiger PN homage
5. Tiger BB
6. Pulsar
7. Seiko chrono
So I expect when its time to flip again the Seiko will be the first to go. I kind of like the idea of pieces outside of the essential 3 being cheaper fun ones - the Pulsar and Seiko don't really fit into the category...….

I can't keep up, weren't you down to a watch or two the other week, now back up to 8.
At least the title of the thread is correct
Haha good idea I cant view it yet though! When are you allowed?

Ive been pondering some of the comments on this thread https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...91#post5404891 regarding 3 being the magic number. The more I think about this then the more I think that it really is.
However, why not have multiple collections of 3?
Here is my 'A' collection - essential pieces, all CWC's, all quartz and each a design classic
RN300-M QM60 (matt case), T20, G10
...and the 'B' collection - cheap as chips fun pieces
Tiger 5508 V6, Tiger 6263, Vostok Komaderskie 211289
I love your man maths Ian, 6 watches isn't 6 watches, but actually two collections of 3 watches.
I think that logic would fool any better half in the country
Plus the diversionary tactic of the vintage Corgi cars in the display cabinet.
I heard Mrs V chatting to her best friend on the phone earlier, she mentioned them but not the watches.
If the A list trio are nervous, the B listers must be terrified
I like the original trio as a stripped down no nonsense collection tbh.
