    Cerakote?

Evening all, just wondering if anyone knows of or has had experience with cerakoting watches in the UK. Did a quick search and no one has mentioned it for a few years.
Thinking of modding a Seiko and this was something I wanted to try.
Searching on the webs, most companies only deal with automotive and firearms.

    Any help appreciated as always.
    Mike.

Finding it hard to believe no one on this vast forum has any knowledge of getting this mod carried out. ?

No knowledge of anyone doing on a watch, but there are companies offering the service on golf clubs - which take a much bigger beating than 99.99999% of watches.

i think it would work quite well, but it needs to be correctly - it's not a DIY project.

Agree, when I have seen examples they look great, the only places I've seen doing it in the UK are shot gun and car parts. I'd rather not take my watch to these guys. I feel like it would be akin to using a hammer when you need a scalpel.

A friend of mine here in Finland has done a few.
I can ask him if he knows anyone in UK who does them.

That looks awesome. It's exactly what I'm looking to get done.

Thank you. That would be great. I'm definitely going to check out Tempus.

Believe it or not, firearm Cerakoting is more challenging than watches by a fair margin, and is often done with air brush.

Prep is key, with a fine bead blast being a must. The bake on version is very hardy indeed, lasting very well on sliding parts.

I would call Stuart Anslem at Osprey Rifles - I'm sure he would be willing to do if for you and his work is top notch.

Thanks for the info. Would Stuart have knowledge of watch disassembly, and rebuild. As in assuming ( possibly incorrectly) that this would need to be carried out.

And he’s a member here, so good to support him - plus his work is excellent (and he knows how to strip/rebuild/regulate/mod a watch as well as the beadblast and cerakote stuff
