New Halios models: Fairwind and Universa

Don’t think I’ve seen this posted here yet. Halios revealed new models at the windup fair:the universa and fairwind models. A bronze version of the seaforth was posted earlier.

As always there are many variations possible with dial and bezel (on the models with a bezel) and this time there is a bracelet.

All pics from IG and WUS. Specs from forasec.

    Fairwind

39mm, rotating bezel with Sellita SW200 automatic movementand 20ATM water resistance. Intended as a sport watch for general timing purposes, it will feature a bi-directional ball-bearing bezel mechanism (i.e. not suitable for dive timing purposes).

    Other bezel

    Universa

38mm, fixed bezel with Sellita SW216 handwinding movement. Designed as a field / general use watch with 10ATM water resistance.

Seaforth bronze will come in blue, purple or grey dial.

    Bronze after Jason aged it

Bronze blue dial is my favourite so far. Already have a bronze Anonimo but love the combination with the dial

Fairwind looks nice but not very original. Universa has some nice touches and may need to grow on me a bit which can sometimes be a good sign as things I like quickly tend to resemble existing stuff.

Thanks for sharing. The Universa is my favourite.

Universa definitely the freshest design. Lugs look a bit long, need some more pics as wristshots are hardly ever a good depiction of size. Second hand like a GMT hand also confused me at first.

Had a seaforth for a day or two ending up calling it the hideous seaforth

The bronze case, blue dial and brown leather strap are a great combo.

Thanks. A bit surprised, most reviews are favourable on the finishing (in this price bracket) but good to hear different opinions.

More pics are popping up on IG

Not sure if scooby is referring to the design or the level of finish. Did a quick search and only found a Ducati scrambler compass watch (rendered pic).

I've been waiting years for Halios to do a watch in this genre, and I'm feeling very disappointed. It's packed with unnecessary eye catching details. The bezel has one step, and then the crystal another; the 4 slim numbers are not in balance with the other 8 indices; the pointed lugs look awkward; the pointed red tip to the seconds hand is gimmicky; the minute hand looks clumsy. What happened to the effortlessness of the Tropik SS?

Actually IME, Halios watches are extremely well made and finished. Don't know about the Scramler never having owned one.

Look good (probably not enough for me to buy one) and I like the sizing.

I still have a hankering for a Seaforth GMT.

Excited by the idea of a purple dial, not sure I've ever seen one. Not so sure how it works with the bronze though.

I took that pic at Wind Up! So happy to share. I spent 2 hours at Wind Up and the Universa was my favourite. One poster complained there was too much unnecessary detail in the dial but I like detail. There is a high polish outline on the indices and 3 6 9 12 numerals. This makes them pop in real life. Strangely I don’t like this on the modern Rolex Explorers but I like it on the Halios Universa. None of the Fairwinds I saw had numerals. If I remember correctly the Universa dial colours will be limited to blue and grey.

The lugs are long and curved, but it fit okay on my 6.4 wrist. (Unlike a Longines Legend Diver)

It was both the design and level of finish
I was so pumped up getting one as the website crashed so many times but in reality its just another middle of the road micro brand

The one Halios I owned, a Laguna I think, was pretty impressive in terms of design and execution and these look just as well crafted. A brand to watch 👹

These are quite neat.. Seeing a few brands putting the 3-6-9 configuration into play these days!

Looks like a bronze purple dial isn’t going to happen just yet. Grey fumé is the third colour for the bronze, next to blue and green.

I like 'em, they look good. But am I alone here? They all suffer from a minute hand that's just too long!

Lists are closing this Sunday (Father’s Day, great excuse ;-) ). Forasec announced they will mail everyone on the list today (for Europeans). Final chance to get on a list. Fingers crossed.

Bit of a thread resurrection but does anyone know if the Universa, hand wind so I understand, has a screw down crown? OR have they achieved the 100 m WR with a gasket or other system?

Anyone purchase these? I'd like to see some pictures in the live. Not too many around.

New Halios models: Fairwind and Universa

Has anyone bought any of these? Pics online look great and the adjustable bracelet not only looks good but seems practical. Not too many new models being released so curious for any experiences.

Yes, I have blue a Fairwind with the "dive" bezel (in inverted commas because it is 0-60, but bi-directional).
I am writing a review of it to publish elsewhere, but suffice it to say, fot the moment, that I am VERY impressed.

Thanks Dave, can you post a link here when you do?

    Especially interested in the bracelet.
