    New watch, new member.

Registered for this forum about an hour before I got the call from my AD.

Can’t think of a better way to say hi to everyone for the first time!

Yeah, 39mm. I have a 7 inch wrist and it’s neither too big or too small. I’ve had 39 mm dive watches that felt a lot smaller.

Dive watches (and GMTs) with their thicker bezels will always wear smaller imo. The Explorer dial is relatively large with a smaller bezel so it feels bigger.

The perfect watch in my humble opinion. Everyone I see one I want one, even though I do like a date function.

Agreed. The dive bezels can visually and physically shrink the dial considerably.

I love date functions too but the simplicity of the explorer and the revised lumed 3, 6 & 9 numerals just make it a timeless classic in my humble opinion.

Completely agree. Need to get one of these sooner rather than later, at the very least to scratch the itch.

Hi and a warm welcome. A classic watch to make your entry with.

Do you have anything else tucked away?

Not yet. I’m down for a BB GMT with my AD. Hope to own either a Pepsi or a Batman someday too.

Welcome, lovely watch. Big fan of both the 36mm and 39mm Explorer, although I'm yet to own one.

I do have this though! (old pic)

    Welcome to the madhouse.

Given your first watch photos, it looks like you will fit in just fine here.

Welcome along and well done on the Explorer. I don’t think you can do better in a sports watch 👍

Howdy howdy, welcome to the forum.

Love the Explorer 1 - you’d be hard pressed to find a better three hander. It’s an idea executed perfectly.

I’m currently eyeing up its big brother as i love that orange hand and I’ve decided I need a date in my daily wearer (but also because two of my best friends have Exp1 s and three would be a crowd!)...

No issues at all, touch wood. Runs like a dream and looks great. It is a little chunky, but the bezel colours are incredible, so worth the heft!

Glad to hear it. The thickness is a concern for me especially after I’ve already got used to the gentler girth of the Explorer!
