    Milanese Bracelets

    Hi
Looking at getting a Max Bill Chronoscope,
I am stuck on brown leather or a Milanese bracelet, part of me says go for the Milanese, (I dont have one) as there are always other quality leather options down the road, but a Milanese just conjours up images of a spiv for some reason!!! and yet I want one,
They are more of a 70s bracelet (in my mind) but I cannot wonder if they are more coming back into vogue,
    Am I nuts?
Would love to hear from folks who love them,

    Scottie

I think I have a few acquired thru trades, not a lover of them tbh.Not sure any of the watches I have would ever look good on one.

There is your answer, you are buying this watch for you, not everyone else.

I like them in theory. It’s the end where the spring bar goes through that’s the main issue for me. It’s a straight across steel tube usually and it leaves a biggish gap to the case which I never like when it’s on.

Straps seem to fill the gap in a bit better.

If they had a fitted end there then I’d probably have a few of them.

Fashionable again in no small part due to the success of the Apple Watch.

The mesh that the Max Bill comes on looks really classy IMO. The chunkier Breitling style mesh not so much. I bought a Geckota mesh bracelet, which looks like the one that comes with the heritage Superocean, for my Breitling but thought it was a bit much so sold it on.

It is indeed a watch for me :-)
but it is nice to know what other folks think, I do think that the max bill is the watch that can look good on a Milanese,
they look like a comfortable strap, are they?

yes that does look better on the Milanese as the case goes well into the gap.

I have to say that on the right watch, in my opinion, they can impart a certain classic elegance. I think the Max Bill falls into that category. It looks great!

This is my Longines Conquest chronograph on one.

I much prefer the milanese on this watch to a traditional leather strap.

Have any of the Max Bill owners had any issues with the crystal? I hear that it has a coating that renders polywatching scratches out an issue

I personally don't like milanese bracelets as they remind me of those terrible Chinese mvmnt watches and the like. Just my opinion though
