Ideas for a small lady’s watch please.

So, She who is always right wants a new watch to wear everyday and when going out/for best.
Apparently a Lady Datejust 28 is too big and not ‘ladylike’ enough. (I know ffs)
So any ideas please, yellow gold is good, as is rose gold. Movement can be quartz or auto. Prefer a good name brand over ‘jewellery’ pieces’ if possible.
    Budget is ‘negotiable’.
    Thanks

Can’t go wrong with an Omega Constellation, great value, variations are many and should be able to get a decent discount from an AD, this was my choice for the other half

As an Everyday wear - Cartier Balon Bleu.
My wife has a DateJust 26 blue dial. Too bad they make those anymore.

    Just how small is she?

Budget is negotiable! She sounds like a keeper and do we always have to look to spend thousands? At the lower end consider a Newgate, all under £200 and look so cool. Hi IMG_3589.JPG

Carter Tank, JLC Reverso, DateJust26? Can't comment on how lady like the DJ26 is but loads in ADs and on the jubilee with the fluted very it's very nice. Date not too visible though, being a 26...

Mrs Draft has a plain stainless Constellation and a steel/gold with diamond dial and they get a lot more wear than her Rolexes.

Recently did just the same as yourselves, looking for a watch for the wife and ended up with an Omega DeVille.

It was the bracelet that she was struggling to find that suited her but the Omega came up trumps.

Was going to say the same thing: if the DJ 28 is too big why not the 26?! Personally I like the plainest versions - black face, smooth bezel - but they're perfect on small wrists.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I think the Constellations and DJ26 might still be too big!
Will have a look at them all though.
I think all gold is going to be the order of the day.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

'New' ladies' watches depreciate so quickly and are not easy to sell or PX if a lady gets style weary. Maybe better to consider a s/h lady's watch which might not depreciate so fast. There are a few s/h ladies' watches in Austin Kaye's sale:
https://www.austinkaye.co.uk/easter-sale?page=1 … and they've been happy to £haggle during previous sales.

I think the small ladies watch you've described needs to have 3 distinctive things about it:

    Small but noticeable
A ladies watch rather than unisex
It's as much a piece of jewellery as it is a watch

Only model and brand I can think of that scores 3 out of 3 is Cartier Tank. Range goes from really quite small on leather, through small or medium on bi-metal (steel-gold) to small medium full gold.

Many years ago I went though a similar thing with my wife. She wanted a small watch and I started (as all cheapskates do) with something that was just a bloody good watch. Then moved to Ebel the next birthday and finally hit the jackpot the following year when I thought 'sod it' and got her a Cartier Tank. Cartier wins hands down!!

Agree that a lady's Cartier tank could be one of the best models to consider … as is a Cartier Basculante.

Sounds like you need a Rolex 6917 at 24mm then...

This one is complete with box and papers from 1978.

Feel free to drop me a PM if you’re interested...

    All the best,

    Paul

Have a look at the gold Tudor on Mike Wood’s site. Square case and integrated gold strap.

Thanks Paul but I think all the Datejust range will be too big!

My wife likes small watches but I tempted her into having a Longines master diamond dot for Christmas. 26mm but looks dainty.

Same answer as ever, let the lady choose,
Years ago I bought my other half a Rolex which she wore about 6 times, since then she chose a 'rolled gold' quartz Raymond Weil, and a quartz Casio diver chronograph as a daily beater,
