It happens to be a feature of Doxa which you clearly have an issue with, which I understand but it's nothing to dismiss them for IMO.
    You aren't following.

Most recreational divers don't use tables (and many don't know how to) and those divers who do use tables don't use the ones Doxa is referencing. Therefore the hallmark bezel is completely useless.

Their other hallmark was the classic orange dial (I know, you can get other colours too) that arose because they misunderstood the navy research on the best colour for a dive watch...so also pretty useless.

Neither of those issues is massive. I'm more put off by the prospect of spending thousands on what is a forum-watch from a micro maker with a dial that is small for the case and comes with a history of patchy QC and CS.

Most recent issue: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f34/qu...s-4938009.html - but there are more.

After reading for the last 5 years on the WUS Doxa forum; I have seen more than frequent QC and CS issues. Had issues with 1 one my 2 newly bought Doxa's too, so it seems to me that Doxa management is not really up to the task...

BTW; I still love the Doxa-divers!

    I’ve owned a couple.
The bezels get scratched up in no time and the paint on the engraved bezels soon wears away. There is loads of stuff about owners using little pots of Airfix model type paint to re paint them - I kid you not!
The Sharkhunter I owned had a really flimsy crown stem that wobbled like it was about to fall off every time you adjusted the watch.
The other I had also had a spelling mistake on the case back.
I also took issue with them over their description of the eta movement that they used which they described as modified by Doxa. This after much digging turned out to mean that they had printed Doxa on the rotor.
I love the look of them but the QC and customer service is poor.

I love the look of the orange versions, such a unique style.

As a Clive Cussler reader, I fancy one. 😀
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I am, but it's probably best if we agree to disagree - I like them for what they are, but you clearly do not. No issues in that for me.

I have the ‘silver lung’ and I love it. Wears great and is odd without being ugly

And this was the reason I sold my 750T, before that happened.

Clearly there is/was some sort of design fault, for the paint drop out on the bezel.

That’s nice. In the 1920s and 30s Doxa made some nice 8 Day movements used in travel and car clocks, Bugatti being one example. They originally used their own single barrel movement, then a double barrel movement when they acquired Sandoz-Vuille. Georges Ducommun, who founded Doxa, was quite an influential and important contributor to the development of the Swiss watch industry in the late 19th/early 20th Century.

I posted about my Sandoz-Vuille a few years ago.

I like the classic orange diver. I hadn’t realised the modern ones had some problems with QC. Not what Georges would have hoped for the company he founded, I think.

I know that Dirk Pitt likes them, but they are not for me.

I started getting emails from Doxa several months back. It said something to the effect that I was on their list. I complained on Facebook about it and the rep there said that since Rick was part owner of the forum I belonged to that it was ok that he took the member list and put it with Doxa’s.
There were several complaints about this and mine and other members email inbox began to get loaded with crazy spam email. I can’t prove it, but I’m pretty sure that Rick got mad at us for complaining and sold our emails to spammer lists.
