The older versions are lovely
The new leave me cold for some reason
I would like to try one though.
New here and couldn’t see any mention on the search thread about doxa watches, are they not popular on the time zone forums? Personally I have a abit of an addiction to them here’s my collection of doxas including a 1968 one in the middle

I really like those orange doxa subs on the beads of rice bracelets, maybe one day I will own one.

50th Anniversary SUB 300
And I used to own a 1200T Searambler
I have a Sub1500T what I really like - when I get back to the UK I’ll try and post a photo

I love the case shape, no BS looks and purposeful, hefty, tool watch design but not really sure about the dial colours.
I`d like to try one, but i`m not adding at the moment. I like them.
OP, a nice collection there. My old Sharkhunter.
Not at the moment but I intend to,
BTW keep the photos coming

At one point I had possibly the best vintage collection on the planet:
300T Conquistador Sharkhunter
200 T-Graph Searambler NOS
200 T-Graph Sharkhunter
300 Black Lung Professional
300T Sharkhunter NOS
300T Divingstar
300T Professional
and had the unique reissue 300T Searambler (possibly the only watch I regret selling).
Several of the above feature in Dr. Pete Millar’s book
Only modern I like is the 6000T, the rest are cashing in too much on the old designs.

Had one, along with crown problems (known to doxa),bought the crown from them for $150,never again on my wrist!
Not to mention their "forum" on wus where you get banned if you mention things like problems with watches, cases made in china etc....
Nope, not for me
I don't mind me tbh, rightly garish
Aquadive is owned by Doxa, does that count? Knowing Doxa’s shady history and the new deceptive practices, I didn’t think I would ever get one. Never say never...at least I bought it used so my money didn’t go to them. The 37mm is what got me, I don’t believe their story about finding these vintage watches and servicing them for sale, but it is a decent looking watch.
I don't think Aquadive claims these are all old watches. For the Aquadive 77 Diver they say the case bezel, case back and
the AS movements are NOS parts, the rest is not.
There are quite a few disgruntled owners on WUS, who regularly take up the same issues over and over again.
I have quite a few Aquadive watches and absolutely love them.
I have a few Doxa including the Searambler Chrono, the recent 300 reissue and a couple others. Never had any issue and quality is fine.
There have been reports of misprints on dial, Asian origin about some of its parts and how they moderate the Owners forum on WUS. Make of those what you want.
I don't think any owner forum is going to entertain more than civil criticism of the brand.
Try flogging Timefactor watches here the way people feel entitled on the Doxa forum and Eddie will rightly show you the door.
The old Doxa's are interesting dive watches but the shenanigans of the crowd who bought the Doxa name takes the shine off the modern ones IMO.
Had the vintage reissue when it was released, the domed sapphire was off putting and the minute hand was so fat i couldnt really tell which minute it was meant to be pointing at without a longer look, wobbly crown stem too. In the end I just couldnt wear it without fear of ruining the shiny bezel which glinted in my eyes on a ht day. Nice watches but not for me, although id reccomend the 1200t over the 300 reissue for any potential buyers listening.
And don't forget about this :D
I own a current model Sub 1500t Professional which I absolutely love. To me they are the ultimate orange-dial dive watch...

Had some good times over on WUS with the Doxa forum, it’s where I first came across David (Granitequarry) when he sold me a brand new 5000T Pro. Probably owned at least a dozen Doxas and currently have a 1500T Shark which is definitely my favourite out of them all but I’d gladly take a 750T Shark of someone’s hands if they had one in a drawer.
The WUS “official forum” moderator antics and the plonker at the rebranding helm were catalysts; got a good story about the latter I’ll tell after a few beers.
Indeed! Thanks for pointing that out! Wonder if any more surfaced in the last few years as there were only four or five known in circulation at the time I owned, even less seen than the Conquistador.
Just had a count and reckon I’ve owned just over 30 Doxas split roughly 50/50 vintage and modern. And all thanks to a fictional hero called Dirk Pitt
Detractions aside, great history from the Cousteau era. Great case shape and love the beads of rice bracelet.

It was only a decent watch for the money in it's hey-day.
One interesting thing is that its callng-card outer bezel is marked up with NDL's from military tables that are not applicable to the recreational divers that are most likely to buy the watches. About as helpfull for normal divers as a helium release valve.
I assume by this you mean that you don't think they are good value for money now?
I really don't understand that; my Sub 1500t Professional has a current price of £2089 + VAT. In quality terms I think it stands comparison with any of my Breitlings (for example), which retail respectively at £3.3k, £4.4k and £5.4k.
Why don't you think Doxas represent good value? Or have I misunderstood?
Simon
I definitely get that and I refuse to post again on there , very over sensitive and also very passive aggressive, and delete posts for no reason apart from personal
Doxa also now refuses to sell spare parts which is irritating as I do watchmaking but can’t buy a crown and stem tube a previous owner on one of my watches cross threaded half a thread so it makes it not so smooth to first grab not a massive problem and can easily be lived with but still would of been nice to have a spare
I can’t fault the quality on the new doxas the only change would be the bracelet, make it like the vintage with taper and expander links
Hey day?
I think they have always had a decent following.
As for the deco info and He valve, neither are relevant or important to be honest. The former has been there for an age and the latter was probably a first by Doxa in 1969.
It's not always about 'applicable' rather innovation and development.
In 2019, 'normal' divers do not use deco tables.

My ex 1200T; the best modern Doxa imho
And my old trusty 300T
The clasp on my Sub 1500 had 'Stainess Steel' stamped on it. In fairness to Doxa, they offered to fit a clasp with the correct spelling if I sent it back, which I reckoned was more hassle than it was worth, so I declined. Instead they sent me out the replacement clasp to have fitted myself, and a free cap, which I thought was pretty decent customer service.

I've had a few vintage examples in my time, but much earlier than their divers.
