which seiko dive for sub £200

I really am going round in circles on this, I am currently thinking an skx007k2 from creation for £178 but am I missing any other gems?

I would have preferred a GMT as I work in other countries every few weeks and setting the time is a pain but they are out of budget, or at least I think they are.

SKX is a great start, great value for the money and a piece of history. Go with it, see if you like it first. If not, options are numerous...

my watch history thus far was Rolex Sub > Breitling ? > Seiko Tuna - each time a life event forcing me to sell.. so im no stranger to the seiko's I loved that Tuna.

the skx007 - this K2, i presume that is just the modern release?

Timekeeping has never been great on my 007, so having to reset it as you land shouldn't really be an issue if, like me, you have to reset it once or twice a week anyway.

Citizen also do automatic divers for about the same money and they tend to be a little slimmer, but nothing yet has replaced my 007 as a beater in the 8 or 9 years I've had it.

I have SKX and NY0040 (Citizen) and my vote goes for Citizen, just a better beater and more refined watch (movement, looks, applied indices, allignment)
    The price is similar

I'll also suggest a Citizen, the BN0151 great comfort, quartz accuracy and everything is aligned. Easily within budget. The BN0150 is the black version.

these are also nice, I have seen the Orient Brand a few times but with it being new to me i have ignored it. there is also all the homage brands that seem tempting., but they are just a bit too close to the originals... i'd rather have something not pretending to be something else.

Try and pick up a bargain Seiko Samurai. They come up quite frequently on SC when you get on there. A used samurai can be had for £40-50 more than a new SKX but they're much more refined.

I will look at the samurai.

The Orient Mako will be too big for my small wrists, I am more suited to the Ray II sized watches..

Not sure if mentioned but you might be able to upgrade to a turtle which is a slightly larger case for around £200 or slightly over

Alternatively you could go for the skx007 or skx009 and maybe upgrade the bracelet for a super oyster or Mill end bracelet from strapcode .

Let me know if you want a discount code from creation watches , I can get you 7% off anything

I am aware of the turtle, I like those also. I must say I haven't seen one for £200 though. I will definitely take that 7% code though!
Regards upgrades, I think I want to get something that I like the look of first, maybe a sapphire crystal mod if required.

Sapphire can be upgraded later, IMO if the watch is new why change the crystal...play a little with nato, rubber, leather
You can always replace the crystal, bezel, insert, chapter ring, etc...at least with SKX options are numerous
If you think turtle is to big, try mini turtle, both are better options then SKX

If you get the Samurai, check the hexad oyster bracelet, it fits amazingly.

Consider putting a 12-hour bezel on the SKX. Gives you a quick GMT function. As others mentioned, other mods can be done to change the look to your desire.

Here's a pic of a modded SKX from @youreterrific1 on instagram that got me interested.

    I love to procrastinate

    Thanks for the code

If i can find a Samurai or turtle for £200 I am all over them i think.. after some thought even with their faults I love the seiko look. If I can't then the skx007 is certainly topping the tree.

Steel shrouds are available aftermarket from Yobokies. There is a good thread on here with photos etc.

Towards the end. Photos of modified Tunas.
