    Germany, theft of 58 Watches

I had a break in 6 months ago, as I identified one of the thieves, I was hoping to find him or my watches...Nothing up till now.
I heard he has gone underground, or even left the country, as he has been told that I am on the hunt for him. I want this bastard, dead or alive, His name is Khalfaf Delgash, aka Dilo. The masked one is his younger brother, as I have been told.
Here what I had on Camera...

Generalvertreter in Interlaken (20-24.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. I know how committed you are to your watches from our earlier dialogue and this must be hard to take.

I hope this bump draws more attention to your post. Maybe worth sticking a reference to it in WatchTalk to direct people here in case some miss it.

Sorry I can’t help but I hope you get your watches back and find the people who did this.

I hope the OP gets his watches back, or that they were at least insured. Such a collection would no doubt have taken many years and much research to amass.

Very sad to hear of this. That's the sort of collection which takes a lifetime to achieve. Hope you get him, dead or alive.

I thought the benefit of the doubt was in order, given that the word might just be (incorrectly and naively) being used as German for scumbag etc. Which the thieves no doubt are.

For those confused, *** was the word used for those deemed ‘sub-human’ by Nazi German racialist policy.

I don’t know if the word was used more generally before the Nazi regime, but I presume it is not used in modern German.

Regardless, when used by English speakers, it cannot possibly escape the most odious of connotations.

Is Lost and Found a public part of the forum? If so, the use of that term doesn’t reflect well on this community. Thieves are contemptible, that’s not in dispute. I’m just concerned that the new member using the term may well be using the robbery as an opportunity to apply it to the large number of migrants who’ve settled in Germany in recent years.

I hope it’s more a case of the new member using it without fully understanding the origins of the word.

I agree, though the thread now has more than one individual taking issue with the term. Hopefully the chap in question will see this discussion, realise the nature of his mistake, and edit it out or add a retraction.

I should think it quite easy to use the term naively, as if it were just a German word for a bad person.

I feel your loss, Geronimo, even though I have some difficulties with your "dead or alive" statement.

But I take even more issue with KurtKnispel's comment, I can assure you that the word has no other meaning in German than the one which DSoTL has stated.

@DSoTL, seabiscuit: please remove your quotes of the word in question, no point repeating it.

I have redacted the word used. It is worrying that the original user of the word has not responded in any way. He has had time to post on other threads.

Still one instance up, when you quoted his post for the first time

The only way to deal with these scum is to beat them at their own game, when in Rome do as the Romans do.
I paid 5000€ for the name of the unmasked bastard, and then I went on the hunt for him, being prepared to put him down like the dog he is.
Fearing for his life, the bastard gave himself up to the police, as the pressure was a bit too much for him.
In the meantime another person got in touch with me, saying, for 15000€ they would sell me the name of all involved, especially those that planned and paid for the break-in.
After tough negotiations, I finally paid another 5000€ for the info... The men that planned the robbery was a Turkish Kurd and the son of one of my close friends. It really made my stomach turn...
I invited father and son to my house, saying I had something interesting!
They came and as soon as they were seated, I said "you are the bastard behind my break-in, and only still alive, because I've know your father for the best part of 35 years" ... nothing came in defence , exept the father said, it is time to break up the meeting and he would get in touch with me later.
He did so a few days later, saying he would see to it that my watches are returned if I would guarantee there would be no vendetta.
Another few days past and The father came one evening with a black bag, in it were 2 parcels, one with just empty watch boxes and the other with the remaining watches. There were even 13 watches and 7 pocket watches, that I didn`t even mention to the police.
I may have said there would be no vendetta, but only if ALL watches were returned, you can guess what is going to happen now!
Here the list of the 20 watches still missing

    What a weird story.

Happy that you have at least some of your watches back. I won't comment of the self-justice part.

Go on then Geronimo, tell us what's going to happen now. Are you going to have people killed? Please, what is your background in this killing people game? I'm genuinely interested. Are you like some sort of mafia boss? International hitman? Deluded banker?

Well done you on getting some of your watches back, good luck for the rest of them, probably best NOT mention on this forum your methods as it might upset some of the populace.

    Germany, theft of 58 Watches

Well if all true I say fair play, too many low life’s get away with unpunished crimes, that is a fine collection of watches which would have taken time, research and lots of money to acquire, all for some scum to walk through the door of your premises and help themselves. I hope they give up the rest of your watches now they know your serious.

Word of advice though, get a bloody great safe, it would have probably stopped all this happening in the first place.

I’d love to read the ending to this story !

Fair play to the OP for trying to sort it

Funny how the thread changes and becomes very quickly more about words used rather than what’s happened although I don’t know the word used And I am not saying any poor taste words are ok to use
I just find it interesting how the threads change

The OP sounds like he is nails ! 🤣

Not words. One particular word that shouldn’t have a place in anyone’s vocabulary. In fairness to the OP, he wasn’t the one who used it.

I must admit I didn’t expect the OP to get any of his watches back but respected his attitude in not giving up and hoped an update would be forthcoming.

The update didn’t disappoint and I am glad a number of the watches have been returned. Good luck trying to track down the remaining missing watches.

    Not really weird!.

Maybe this can justify my anger, there was a court case a couple of days ago, the scum who was unmasked and gave himself in to the police was sentanced... for 16 Months on probation, fined 500€... It really makes me sick.

    Germany, theft of 58 Watches

Any leads on the 20 (€280.000) still missing?

The motive was: he stole them for ‘Chico’ to clear a €1.500 drug debt and, on top Chico gave him €500?

Any lead to identify and apprehend ‘Chico’? Does ‘Chico’ exist or do you think the criminal made this up?

Sorry, I don’t speak German, I figured this out from Google Translate so my interpretation could be wrong.

No, he stole them with "Chico" who was apparantly also his dealer, and I believe he made up the name, he lied through his teeth all through the court-case, saying he didn`t know him and hasn`t heard or seen him since!
No leads as of yet, to the rest of the watches.

If you think senteces are lenient in the UK, Germany has far more chilled judges, totally out of touch with the real world.
