Would that make the watch more valuable - in the way that stamps printed with an error are more sought-after and valuable to stamp collectors..? Serious question...

They didn't show the defect in the first 3+ minutes.

But I'd love to own that one!

Agreed! When the defect is shown I was sure I saw that “correct” in the first minutes of the video. Pretty amazing surprise though.

As others have stated, a bit of a deceptive video as the whole purpose of the first three minutes or so of the video is to show a correct dial so the viewer has been through the mental gymnastics of checking all aspects. When the watch with the error is shown we've already checked off all sorts of elements and it isn't shown for that long. That said, it's obvious and amazing that it got through several levels of QC.

I was thinking that, up until the point, that you send it back to Rolex for servicing and I reckon it would return a normal Airking.

Or could you insist that the defect is not corrected?

I watched it and didn't spot it - but have to say I actually quite liked the double 9; unsure of the value of it like that but if it was mine I'd be tempted to leave it as is...

They swapped the watch mid way through so the eyes would always see a 3, sneaky.

Yes very sneaky. As said above,we all probably scrutinised the watch that actually had nothing wrong with it simply because we were told it did have issues.

How anyone can actually like it is odd!,but I can only assume it's because it's an high end watch that may increase its value!,anything else may not have you think the same.

I spotted it the moment they switched the watch, but probably because I was expecting one of the numerals to be incorrect when I clicked the link as have seen the same mistake from other brands.

I'm not into Rolex, but would love to own that one, what a great conversation piece and I'm sure most would call FAKE! Haha.

I didn't notice it at the time either, but it got me thinking, after the list of people he mentions who missed it. Is it vaguely possible this was done after purchase? Could there be a double 3 lurking about on the other side of the globe somewhere?

Spotted it before the reveal. Ha Ha Ha. The reason why the perfectionist Swiss didn't notice it is because the mistake is perfectly executed. QC were probably looking for constructional errors.
