I think they might be getting a submariner and a GMT into stock....
Or a spot opened on the waiting list?
I’ve received an invite from my AD about an event in London on the 8th May which includes a talk by Rolex uk’s managing director, the ADs CEO and there’s supposedly models to buy on the evening. Did anyone go last year and is it worth going?

If there’s alcohol then certainly!
How do you score an invite?
Maybe they will be trying to sell Rolex time share
That's your chance to throw a shoe at the git for them keeping warranty cards.

Oh how I wish I cared,,

I'm in central London that night if you don't want to go lol
I'm guessing this is an AD arranged event to thank* their best customers?
* = Tempt them to spend more.
That reminds me, Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut' is available on Prime right now.
It reminds me this

Don't go. You'll wake up in a bath filled with ice and your Rolex missing.

I thought they were, under Rolex rules, insisting on filling out the names on all invitations now...ahh no...that's just a photo they sent you isn't it, they've retained the invitation and you'll get the card itself next year.
I can think of almost nothing worse.
Think of all of the Goldsmiths staff that’ll be there. With their ill fitting suits, fakes smiles and chubby round faces. Forgetting for one night, after all, that they actually work in a shop.
Rather than a Rolex Black tie event, am I right in assuming this is a Aurum Group black tie event focusing on Rolex for the evening?
I can’t believe some of these unkind and condescending comments.
Anyone who takes pride and care in what they do is at alright by me - whatever it is they do.

Well, that's the moment you step up to the Rolex boss and ask him why subs are so thin on the ground nowadays. I would ask him myself, but I didn't get an invite when I told them that I don't wear a tie anymore... (Early retirement etc).
Kidding aside, have a great evening!

EDIT: I mentioned the event to my wife (she owns more Rolex watches than I...). All she said was: "... and if they would send you an invite, you would turn up wearing a Casio Mudman or the cheapest quartz you can find on eBay..." She knows me very well.

What a snob, my first (Saturday) job was in retail; Dolcis shoe shop Queen St Cardiff. The colleagues I worked with were lovely people, salt of the earth. That job proved a fantastic grounding for a subsequent career as an Insurance Broker. You have to learn to deal with all of humanity and when it comes to people like you I always think what Mrs Brown would say: "that's nice" !
