Thread: Best place to buy a Turtle?

Best place to buy a Turtle?

Of the Seiko, not the exotic pet variety...

I’m looking for the black bezel + dial one (SRP777).

So far, I’ve found one for £310 on IguanaSells. Has anyone used them?

CreationWatches, my usual ‘dealer’, is out of stock.

    Thanks for any help.

I believe this watch has now been discontinued by Seiko hence the rise in prices for any remaining stock.

Thank you for that link; I was hoping to find a UK based retailer, it seems a little unnecessary to get one shipped all the way for Australia.

I’d be surprised if they have discontinued the 777... I thought Seiko divers last a long time (see SKX007), especially what I think of as the definitive/normal version (black dial, no limited edition theme).

ETA: they have indeed discontinued them for the SBDY015... I wonder what the difference is?

I got mine from SAR Creative Marketing AG on Chrono24 in Jan 17. Since two of my friends have bought one each from there too. Can't see any listed on their page right now but might be worth giving them a call/msg.

Thanks for the tip... they don’t seem to have one atm, but there are one or two promising leads who do.

I had a search it’s realy the same watch to all intents and purposes.

I'm puzzled by why Seiko even bothered assigning a model # to this, since there is really no difference with the SRP777 other than the kanji day dial. Why not add a suffix like SRP777J or something.

I’ve just ordered one from Harvey Store for about £270. I found them on Chrono24. Thank you for your advice chaps.

Good call, I went looking for you last night I even considered offering you one of mine.

I noticed the description on Amazon about alignment I still find it strange Seiko find it acceptable.

It even warns of alignment issues on Sieya Japans website on the SBDY015. $418 and still potential issues. Not great is it.

Unfortunately Harveys have, having accepted payment for the order, emailed me saying they’re not in stock and it’s a 2-3 week wait. Safe to say I shan’t be ordering anything from them again.

Once I have been refunded, I’ll be back on the look out for a 777... might put a WTB out if finding a new one is too much of a pain.

Not the black 777, but they do have a blue 773 if anyone’s interested.

Bought one from First Class Watches for £320 including next day delivery... very exciting! Happy to be buying from a UK shop as well.

It is about £380 on their website, but I used the code DISCOUNT11 to get 15% off. Should work for others.
