    Morgan cars

Slipped below my radar...Morgan now an Italian owned company.
Apparently announced at the Geneva motor show recently.
    Investindustrial is now majority shareholder.
They also own 37.5%. Of Aston Martin as well and were the venture capital firm who did the Ducati turnaround before selling it to Volkswagen
    Good track record there
The Morgan family and staff still hold a chunk of the firm too.

Interesting. I'm surprised that this hasn't been widely reported.

I grew up with a Morgan in the garage. I can still hear, and smell, the leather seats. It was a lovey thing, especially when you are 7 years old

Was in The Times and a couple of the classic car magazines I read. Think it may have been on BBC website too.

Never knew of the takeover - shame really, as Morgan is the epitome of Britishness IMO.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Well here's a thing - the Morgan Cars Troubleshooter episode (from 1990!) with Sir John Harvey Jones is on YouTube.

That took me back to the time Sir John visited the organisation I worked for, management and workforce were blinkered looking back rather than forward. Having said that, typewriters were rapidly replaced with computers.

    Happy days.

If I remember correctly there is a fantastic response in this when Sir John asks a guy in the chassis dept how long he has worked there. Appx 30 years is the response. Sir J then states I bet you have seen some changes during that time? Response......no!

Priceless, oh and Sir John calling the sales mgr a sales limiting manager.
