I think you're being a bit hard on yourself. With my mechanicals, I enjoy finding out about their behaviours in different positions and using this information for a sort of "ambient regulation" to keep them in good time.

My DW-5600-HR is now +9 seconds.

7 weeks to the day for the Megaquartz, seeming pretty consistent which I guess no surprise for a quartz. +7 seconds so seems to gain 1 second per week, not bad at all for one of the very earliest quartz watches.

The TZ-UK British Summer Time timekeeping challenge

Leaderboard updated - and sad to see the loss of a couple of heavy hitters this week. As weíre ~25% through, Iíll leave the current leaderboard here for posterity (the leaderboard in the OP will continue to be updated weekly):

^remember, yellow cells show data that needs updating from entrants.

Many thanks to everyone for their participation and dedication this far... Iím enjoying seeing how all these great watches are performing

On Thursday, it will have been running nonstop for 60 days, and worn for 50 of them, but over the bank holiday weekend, it'll probably run down, as I fancy wearing a couple of my vintage watches whilst doing nothing.

I'll do a screenshot next time... but the Seiko 7A38 is still a steady 0.5s out over the duration of this test so far.

Seems to be gaining a little bit in the warmer weather. Now at +3 seconds to date. Still looking remarkably consistent as far as I am able to tell though.

And here my Presage bows out - I'm not going to be wearing it over the next four days, so the PR will run out on Sunday morning. But, left dial up, at some point tomorrow morning, it will have caught up the 8 seconds it's missing

I didn't think I would keep the watch running for the whole BST period, anyway, and I'm very glad to have proved to myself that every time I wear this for a decent period the accuracy will be good enough for me to trust it without checking up on it.

I before BST began, I had already been wearing it for six days, during which time it was +3 seconds. So, net loss: 5 seconds over 60 days. MRSP: £599.

Very sorry to hear that. But I understand... I think I had the first mechanical DNF !!!

Certainly, the pressage has been a revelation, thanks for such regular updates.

So, yesterday I wore it for an hour or so, as I needed a bracelet whilst getting some exercise, and this morning I idly see what time it's at and....

....and I feel a change in my plans for today looming!

    Edit: Two days later...

Warmer weather has kept the good old 7A38 runnning ahead of itself... we're now on a respectable +1s over the duration of the test.

Yes I know, annoying isn't it. However the aircon in the Clio would seem to be doing the business and it's hanging on to +3s, albeit only just.

Iím not sure which way itís tending at the moment, itís had a reasonable amount of wear over the last couple of weeks. I suspect in reality in around +2/3 sec, given the accuracy in setting - but a one second gain in just over two months is pretty amazing.

No doubt a couple of date wheel teeth sheered ff, common fault with these plastic date wheels. My gold F300 gets stuck one day per month. Might get it replaced for a metal one when I have it serviced.

  46. #246

Now at +14s but still within the Casio spec for one month, although we're at two and a bit. :)

  47. #247
Leaderboard updated, many thanks to everyone for the latest updates.

10 weeks in, we have 17 plucky watches charging through... particular kudos to the two mechanicals that have been ticking away throughout

  48. #248
JGJG what's the module in your GShock and are you wearing it for the test? Yours is behaving splendidly.

3151... Iíd no idea it was running so well until this thread :)

I wear it maybe 1 day a week currently - though it seems to have no effect on the timekeeping, either way.
