Purchased a Gen 2 about a year ago, was keeping good time but has stopped working (strangely the the stopwatch still functions !!). Can anyone recommend a good service centre ??. Thanks

I have a 7t32 which did just this last month. Hands stopped but chrono still worked. Fresh battery sorted it. If you don't do DIY battery work, try a pm to bodo (Guy) on here.

Thanks - you've got a perfect one there!!

I wear it maybe 1 day a week currently - though it seems to have no effect on the timekeeping, either way.

Good on you Sean, my OCD would never allow me to let a mechanical go over a minute plus or minus.

This is as far over as it's ever been. I've considered hacking it, as I don't think that it'll materially affect this challenge, but at the same time I'm now very aware how fast it's running and am making the mental adjustment each time I check the time.

Still +2s overall since the start of this. According to my timing app, its running at 0.04spd which should work out at <15s per year.

Coming up to the Summer Solstice and the nights will soon be drawing in but the Clio is still steady at a total of +3 seconds.

A splendid performance. With that level of accuracy, you could solve the longitude question.

I was so busy admiring the continued accuracy - and, erm, va va voom? - of the plucky contender that I didn't notice the minute and second clicking over on time.is.... you're really ratcheting things up there :)

Real life events have started to get in my way, and will for a while, and my nicer watches need packing away for the time being, including the Presage. So this is me bowing out. By the time the PR runs down, it will have been running nonstop for exactly three months - I had already been wearing it for the week before the clocks went forward - so that feels nice and neat.

My G-Shock has had a two second week and is now + 17 since we started. Still not bad but compared to some here, not on a par.

We’re 13 weeks in to the challenge now... a quarter of a year. Well done to everyone who has made it thus far; let’s see how your watches are doing!

  29. #279
    GLX5600 is now at +5s (~20spy!)

  30. #280
GS is still at 0.0s deviation. It hasn’t drifted and come back - it simply hasn’t moved from 0.0s in 3 months :)

Same with mine. The 5spy spec is way too generous. GS can say it's accurate to 1spy!

It would appear that the warm weather has started taking its toll. The Clio is now showing at +5s total gain. I may have to consider keeping it in the fridge of a night for a spot of thermocompensation.

Those Grand Seikos are indeed turning out to be mighty impressive, functionally as well as aesthetically.

Now at +19 seconds for the test. My watch doesn't like the warm weather :)

  34. #284
    +3s now for the 7A38. Averaging +0.05spd.

  35. #285
Back home after a month away. Was going to take the GS to keep it in the running, but changed my mind, so it’s another DNF.

    Updates for my remaining two.

  36. #286
    Leaderboard updated!

Well done to all those still running.

Since we’re at the 13 week / quarter-year mark, let’s keep today’s table here for reference:

The TZ-UK British Summer Time timekeeping challenge

    Hmmmmmm very strange
The GEN 2 is now almost dead on. It’s approximately 0.5 second slow,

I have not altered the time in anyway. I am guessing this means the battery is on its way out and it might not get to the end of the challenge.
Will be interesting to see if it looses anymore time.

I have also been a bit remiss but here is my update:

    +35 seconds.

Many thanks chaps. It will be interesting to see how the Gen2 goes, whether it’s just the heat....

Sorry to say I won’t be able to post my watches’ performance this week, nor update the leaderboard. Normal service will resume next week, with apologies for any inconvenience.

Do keep them coming though :)

    Thanks JGJG,

I'm a day late with my update, which is that my DW-5600-HR is now +21s.

    Cheers

I'm at +23 secs today, so that's another 2 second week, we were warm and muggy in Edinburgh, so it's clear my G-Shock likes the colder weather.

  46. #296
+4.5s overall for the 7a38... Will get a photo next time!

    +19 seconds.

Seems to be gaining more than usual in the heat, our bedroom is pretty hot.
