Ever decided something is not you/will not complement the collection after acquiring, bin it off, then end up missing it and hankering for the same again...? Or is it just me?

Plus various others - it's an illness I tell you 😉
Omega Aqua Terra mid-size 36.2mm with blue dial is the watch I regret parting with, I aquired it second- hand in mint condition, had it a couple of years, then bought a Datejust 116200 with white dial. I decided to swap the dial for blue and sell th Onega, seemed a good idea at the time and I got a good price for it......or so I thought! Eventually the Rolex got sold, decided I had too much money tied up in watches so it went. This left me without a steel blue- dialled watch, I’ve regretted parting with both the Datejust and the Aqua Terra, but the Aqua Terra is a far harder watch to replace, they just aren’t out there and prices gave risen to a level I wouldn’t pay. I tried to buy my old one back but the owner wouldn’t sell, I don’t blame him!
That Aqua Terra sat nicely in the collection, I’d bought it very well and it would’ve appreciated in value too. Bad day’s business selling it.
The logical replacement is a Rolex Oyster 36 with blue arabic dial, I’d rather pay the money for one of these than nearly £2k for an older Aqua Terra, makes more sense to me if I can find a nice used one.
Hamilton Conservation GMT - 2
Seiko Turtle Save The Ocean - 2
Omega Speedmaster Professional. But I sold that knowing I'll buy another, just in a slightly older flavour.
4x Breitling Aerospace
2x Rolex Sub Date
3x Seiko Turtles
Fortis Cosmonaut 39mm. Twice. Am still regretting both sales!
There’s probably more.

Yup.
Sold this........
And bought this........
Sold this, and know I'll never find one as good..........
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Bought my almost new Datejust 116234 on SC in 2015 then sold it in 2016 on SC after I thought 36mm was too small for my wrist. Regretted it the minute I sold it but told myself I would get over it. Well I didn't and hankered after another and even considered buying a new one but prices had risen too much.
Well luckily I had sold it to a TZ good'un who very kindly honoured our agreement that if ever he sold it on he would contact me first, which he duly did. Now three years later it's back on my wrist after Rob had looked after it for me for a short sabbatical following three years of regret and acknowledgement that 36mm is not too small, but a classic size. My biggest self taught watch lesson yet.

Did the same with a Navitimer - sold it as 'common opinion' made me think it was too bling... However been looking at them longingly ever since nd am soon about to replace it.

fortunately nothing too pricey.
No, not really. I’ve always been happy with my decisions to sell and can’t think of anything I’ve owned and sold that I would be desperate to buy again.
There is one brand I’d like to revisit, though - Panerai. I’ve only ever owned one; a very limited edition 00156. I made the right decision to sell it when I did as it enabled me to buy my DSSD, but I’d be happy to own a PAM of some description again in the future...

Not really. For me, watches are just 'stuff' and I find my emotional attachment to them is pretty minimal, which is how I like it. Tbh, I can't even imagine a watch I'd really miss. There are so many nice ones out there offering their own charms I couldn't get too hung up over any one in particular.
Well I'm certainly not in the same league as some of you guys. My only real regret was selling my Omega 2254 from a love perspective. From a financial point of view, I regret selling a Navitimer for what would now be silly money.
Couple I sold for what seemed like good, rationale reasons at the time:
Zeno GMT diver - this was the watch that I actually joined this forum to buy as back then you could sign up and get onto SC straight away. Sold it on here and regret it. Lovely domed dial, red GMT pointer...
Sinn 857UTC - again, sold on here but regretted soon after.
If anyone knows where the Zeno has gone then let me know...
I'm not playing this game, or I could cry :)
It's just a matter of time...
When I first saw this thread title (and I hadn't read the title properly) I thought - who keeps their watches in a shed and only visits them occasionally?
In all seriousness though, I haven't done it yet but I know I will with a Speedmaster Apollo 15 35th Anniversary. Nicest watch I've ever owned in hindsight.
Steve
Sold a Bremont EP-120 for circa £4.5k Doh !!!
maseman
Considered it once or twice, but trusted my gut. I got rid of them for a reason, they were not getting wrist time. They were good watches, but not much use if they are unworn. If i reacquired them, the same scenario would play out.
Omega X-33 - bought / sold / bought / sold / bought / sold either MarkII and now MarkIII. Might be looking for a good MKII to fill the void at some point!
Madness.
PRS-68. I don’t know what possessed me to sell it.
Omega Speedmaster Professional but that was part exchanged for a 1980 Birth year 16800 Rolex Sub

I’ve been really good compared to most of you. I’ve had three speedy pros and I’ve bought Eddie’s Speedbird twice.
Must have had at least 6 of these, in both flavours
Probably 5 of these
4 of these, may be 5
at least 6 of these
4 of these
And I know it's not a watch but I sold my Yamaha DT250 a couple of years ago and have another one now enroute from the USA!!
Easy...
The Steinhart Ocean 1, twice!
Based purely on the lug to lug width. Doesn't stop me hankering after another though; perhaps I'll try the 39mm version...third time lucky?
4 Pelagos’s in 2 years!! Had an ETA, sold it, bought a blue, sold it, bought a LHD, sold it and now bought a blue again.......
My Dad bought a DT175 one for me and my brother back in the mid 70's, we had great fun, using it off road mainly. I really wanted a bit more power hence me importing the 250 because Yamaha didn't supply 250's to the UK market in 1973.
For any 2 stroke fans, 20 second video of my 1st one
This is the revisited item, I'll definitely be keeping this one!
