That works. Looks lovely. Do you have any photos in different light. Be interested to see how the dial and the material moves.

Whilst I created a new thread for the purpose, I may as well add a request here. My 979 is crying out for a white camouflage. Any ideas for a quality, Sub friendly one? Thanks.

To be honest....at a first look looked smaller.....
I mean...taller but somehow smaller due to the big bezel.
But on a second look....big enough to love :)
Fun fact: been reading about this watch for a while andI couldn't find anywhere what I found in it's manual.
The fact that the watch is titanium but the bezel is SS....and....all the numerals on the bezel and all the markers are made of white gold and riveted somehow on the bezel.
I am mesmerisez also by the buckle.....it is a marvel of engineering.... .just take a look a one of the screws (pic attached) .....the heqd is a screw inside the screw mooving freely but still so secure......well done Panerai ...once again
    Totally in love....
Now....only Bronzo will make me reach for the wallet again.....watchwise ...:)

I'm sure there are more places but I remember 'Ted Su' doing something similar.....https://www.tedsustraps.com/dive-buc...eel-bronze-DLC
    obviously not Panerai branded

It’s a serious classic that watch - Panerai were at their most sought after in the 2000s and IMO the reason was because some of their best watches ever were in that era. A lot still can be found (like yours) as prices and hype have cooled.

Domed 233 crystal received for the 560

Received the aftermarket domed 233 crystal which is the same 37mm size as my flat 560 one.

Hopefully the watchmaker I want to use can fit it, although I have been told new bezel and gaskets may be needed, but not sure which ones.

Here it is placed above the current one. (I like this distorted look).

What do you mean by new bezel?
Isn't that part of the case?....one piece?

As far as I know it's fixed, but not 1 piece to the case, believe removed for servicing.

I don't if I can keep it now that I know your secret.

    Gutted.

Edit: I can keep it, absolutely adore the thing. +10s in the last 5 weeks by the way, absolutely ridiculous.

The green can look pretty cool too.

The Mrs asked what was the point when it looks so similar to the black. And she does like green, so I still might go for it.

A switch over to a watch that maybe brings the blue out more. Definitely dresses down the 670 from haute horology to diver...

That is boss on the 670.
I tried a green concertina strap on the 243 and it just wasn't for me. We are all different of course.

I really like this 389. Having never owned a Submersible this one ticks all the right boxes for me. Titanium, black ceramic insert, cushion case qr strap change. Be interested in your thoughts on this one in particular?

    Cheers

The 389 is my favourite Sub. I prefer the ceramic to all metal bezel, both astheticaly and practically. The all metal ones are prone to showing scratches.

I also prefer the 389 to 1389 as I feel the chunk of it and the thicker (from the side) lugs make for a more proportional profile. A 305 would run as my second favourite.

The easy strap change is very helpful and it's amazing just how adaptable the Subs are to various straps. I've worn alligator, rubber and old school leather and think they all work well.

The 389 does look fantastic. I agree with your points above. I prefer the 389 to the 1389 as it’s a thicker case and the seconds hand isn’t blue.

What a great collection of Panerai watches you have.

Agree that submersibles suit just about every type of strap. I would add NATO and canvas as great options for the warmer weather.
