Two new arrivals over the weekend. The one on the left is a whopping £47.500.

I’m a bit of Panerai fan boy but come on. It’s a G Shock.

I get that they can’t keep turning out the same old stuff all the time but I’m not sure what direction their travelling in.

It also makes me think that the older references and the historical range will become more desirable as they move further away from their original DNA.

Anyway here’s a picture. I warn you, you can’t unsee it.

Lovely to see them trying new stuff, just wish they were interested in selling Panerai watches to panerai fans, like decent base models at alright prices and historical models in 42 or 44mm cases…

Those 2 models are ridiculous, abit like the brabus models.
I’d like to see a new version of the old chronos like above, but in 44mm

Glad you got one sorted mate. I think you would have been waiting a long time to get your old one back. Love that strap btw, is it black or green?

Yep nice strap but I can’t even begin to fathom how they’ve come up with that price.

Yes it’s a fancy Ceramic and titanium mix but even at half that price it would be overpriced for the tech on show.

I appreciate there’s a price on exclusivity but surely that only really works when something is demand.

Good luck to them and the prospective buyer.

The camo version is limited to 50 pieces, I can’t see them selling 10 at that price. The blue just says limited but doesn’t stipulate but at 25k they can do one. Madness. I thought my 01118 was expensive (it was) but it’s loads better in my eyes, 44m and thinner, 70 year warranty, carbotech not DLC and the lume is crazy good. Appreciate its not a chrono but who really uses them these days. Good luck but not for me.

But your 01118 doesn’t have a time to target countdown. Because we all need that.

I like it a lot. It’s very lightweight and works well with a variety of rubber straps and OEM NATOs I seem to have amassed. I’d love a 1118 someday, which would probably only leave room for one Carbotech.

I like the classics, but also like carbon fibre as an alternative.

Lovely! My only issue is price, feels a little pricey and don’t seem to be many second hand ones around and not many discounts to be had.

The one it comes with is different, it’s an embossed texture, this is a different smooth black calf and blue stitch OEM strap that I bought afterwards.

I really like it, based on half a days wear. I’ve had a few different 1950s cased Panerai’s now, this manual wind version is definitely the best fitting, sits surprisingly well on the wrist. Just ordered a couple of straps off Rich at Toshi, looking forward to them arriving.

My wrist isn’t far off that, the fit of a 372 on my wrist is absolutely fine. Watchbox on You Tube did a review on a 372 (it’s about 8 years old now) he gives a good sizing description in terms of what sized wrist it will work with - worth a watch.

My wrist is 6.75. 47mm models don’t wear much bigger than 44mm. Having a flat case back also helps.

422 will wear the same as a 372.

My favourite current Panerai if I was to switch from my Radiomir to a Luminor. Was worried about 47mm so Good info, thanks
(Still wish it was available as a 42mm though!)

That'll be me... This wears better than a 44mm 233 for example as it sits closer to the wrist.

Interesting feedback, as I would have thought the contrary obviously based on the fact the 233 is 44mm. I was starting to consider it over the 372/422, well no more!
I love both the 422 and 372 but tend to prefer the “purity” of a two hander.
Still need to try one on as I can’t get around buying a 47mm watch just based on internet pictures

We could do with setting up a mini P day get together. That way you can have a look and try a couple of different models and sizes on.

My 422 wears better than the 1033 44mm that I had. The 995 45mm was small on my wrist and years ago I had 45mm 287 that wore big.

It’s all down to the case back.

The 968 I currently have appears to wear smaller than my 422 but the overall size is the same. The reason it appears smaller to the eye is it’s 47mm including the bezel. The 422’s face and glass is 47mm.
