What i would really like, but dont think it exits as the 368 is a destro, is a 422 with an 8 day manual movement, for me would be perfect.

It's a bakeka strap which came from a forum member many moons ago. It has the nice touch of a red/white/green stitch at the lug end of the short side.

The 422v372 debate rages. I owned one of each at the same time, having bought the 422 initially, and then picked up a 372 from a fellow forum Paneristi when the bug had really bitten.
To me the PRI is a nice idea, useful to check when putting the watch on, but the "feel" of the 372 just swung it for me, so the 422 had to go when it came to house move time. Glad to see it being enjoyed by ASW still, having been through a few TZrs.
Imho the 422 would be a superb "only" PAM, but I preferred the 372 as part of a collection .

Haven't had a chance to really check it out as yet but are all those straps OEM and they have to be because of the quick strap change system on the 38mm Due?

Yes because of the snap on strap mechanism is oem only
Which is a shame because it restricts colour choice
Shes nagging me for an orange strap now !!
    Which they dont make

Pulled this old lump of metal out this afternoon. And the Panerai ha ha. It's nice to have some good light outside for photographs.

I’m not 100% sure but I think the straps for garmin fenix 5s may fit ,I think the quick change is similar and you’ll probably be able to get coloured rubber.
Again not sure but worth checking

I love this, but i think you know that!! Out of curiosity is it a B series as there is a good debate going on on another forum about 004 and T and L dials

EDIT- Dooohhh, just seen your reply to Rob. Do you know if its always been an L dial or was it swapped at a service??

I had a quick google and couldn’t find anything conclusive, so many strap makers out there and so little time.... about time I invested in another Pam me thinks :-)

Hi Nev - I've not been a Panerai nerd for some time, and I can't remember the last time I was on Paneristi! But I think that the switch from tritium to Luminova happened during the B-series model year, 1999, so somewhere in that production of 3000 Marinas (3000 include all Marinas - 001, 003, 004). Early B-series may have tritium. Mine is a later B-series (24xx/3000) so is Luminove. To my knowledge the dial and hands are original!

    Gosh, it's 21 years old!

Thanks Walter, i think you are correct, later B series with 6519 case were L and earlier B with the 6502 were T, at least from the info that i can see that seems to be the way of it.

    Whatever, still a fantastic watch!!

  25. #775
Ah, I didn't know that about the different case references! But it all fits together!

(Don't know why I blocked out the watch number, I'm sure I've posted uncensored versions before!)

My wife has a significant birthday this year and I’ve been racking my brains trying to figure out what to get her. She’s not really ‘in to’ watches, but when we were in the Panerai boutique in Bond St. trying on (for me), she tried on a 38mm (can’t remember which reference of the top of my head, but it was the entry Luminor) and loved it. Made me think this might be a suitable model. I wasn’t aware about the straps being purpose made for the model though. Couldn’t find anything online on any sales blurb. Must investigate. This thread also reminds me I should list a couple of watches in my box that aren’t getting worn and get myself a Pam.

The 38mm duo has a clip on strap system
Annoying that you have to go oem only
But positive thing is even my wife can change her strap its that easy and that is not a sexist comment.

Strap change day today for the pamily. The only one that stays on the same strap pretty much all the time is my old faithful 49. And it is still running with Bob on accuracy.

Bit the bullet and shelled out for a OEM Military Green strap, lovely shade of green and so damn comfy- Unfortunately the only 22mm buckle I had was an old steveostraps, now on the hunt a quality thumbnail or similar to go with it.

If you're looking for 22mm thumbnail, I can recommend these https://www.watchobsession.co.uk/col...iant=338241772

PS the green strap looks great.

Weirdly I ordered that exact buckle last week, turned up yesterday and unfortunately the screw was threaded so wouldn’t do up. Hope the replacement doesn’t do the same thing.

I've had c20 and there was one duff that was replaced without debate. Watchobsession are good bunch in my experience.

My 670 back on the wrist after a few weeks break - resetting it is a pain, but definitely worth it.

I decided that I needed a black strap on my 233 again, so spent a little time this morning and this is the result.

The 233 seems to work with just about any colour strap, but put it on a plain black strap with black stitching and it comes alive
