    Thanks Speedy,

I think they made the "Graphitti" movement (sausage dial) version three years after Inception so the E, F, and G serial. It was my initial desire to get the newer Sandwich dial version (which I also love) but there was something about the increased rarity of the first version that spoke to me. I was pleasantly surprised that the printed indices were so sharp, and almost white, again something I loved.

I could be wrong, but I think they made the sausage dial for another year without the etched movement and then transitioned over to the sandwich variant. I'm no historian or expert; either is a great choice and to be fair I'd have both if I could find one that wasn't polished to death. I assume that they are well worn and enjoyed so it's tough to find one in great condition, or perhaps I'm just not patient enough/too OCD.

Just wait until you have 20+straps. I was warned, didn't listen and here I am - needless to say new watch = must go out and buy more straps, but hey, I don't make the rules!

Enjoy yours and send us some pics.
    Best,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
I was also warned about the strap issue. I paid no attention, "it'll never happen to me". Less than a week after buying it I bought a new rubber strap yesterday, made plans for another one & am contemplating a couple of new leather ones.
To be fair, the original leather one is a bit cracked & a bit short. The supplied rubber is perfect but also too short...

Found these straps on eBay, decent Silicon versions with the best aftermarket buckles I’ve found at this price point. Paid £40ea delivered.

They don’t seem to attract hairs or stain easily and are very comfortable to boot.

Think he’s referring to the crown guard being smaller than standard on a fiddy,

Look at the crown (not crown-guard) it is too small compared to the crwon-guard and the hole in it!

The crown is smaller than the other 47mm models,it’s definitely not off putting.

After getting my first panerai (183) I want to change the strap. Can anyone recommend a good screwdriver as the ones I have are too far and won’t fit in the screw head…

When I get home from work I’ll have a look at the one I have for the 1930’s cases.

I think it’s the bregeon black code 3mm but will check.

So from fully wound the 233 lasted 10 days 17hrs fresh back from a Panerai service.

The accuracy will drift towards the ends of that but still well over the 8 days, impressive.

Looking at a 2012 PAM 111 Base manual wind, would someone have a rough idea of the cost of a service and polish - light scratching from wear no major dings - by Panerai service Centre ?

Service prices are listed on their website here https://www.panerai.com/gb/en/servic...rice-list.html

I used Bill Rice (and would recommend) for my 112 a couple of years ago and paid £487 which included a repair

Lovely set, people forget the 232 but it was the one to have or the 190 or in your case both. Think I did a comparison review on them somewhere

Had it on since last week

Wears superb and comfy , the leather/ gators etc u need to remove for jumping in shower as they shrink and the leather expands and contracts when wet and dried

This rubber you can just wear it and suits my life right now and isn't a recognisable rolex

There will be plenty around on the used market, if you are happy buying used? Try putting a WTB for whichever strap it is that you are looking for.
