Oem I've found over last 20 yrs to be the best and right amount of padding but are super expensive , outwith rubber b the oem rubber is still the best ,

Had a rubber b on my titanium luminor and wore it non stop for 8 months

Some after market stuff are cheap for a reason they are pretty s""te

OEM are by far the best. I did try a couple of Horus 24mm straps and I thought they were incredibly poor. OEM new or used is no problem. Clean up easily enough if that’s a worry. Luckily I have a decent collection of OEMs in 24mm and 26mm 😎

A standard leather Panerai straps does about 2 years daily whereas I have never thrown a Toshi, BigB, or Jabba strap away ever.

Yeah I think the same , was tempted to buy the green 26mm rubber oem for this 190 the other day , got a inky blue gator and tan calf for this but will be staying with the rubber for a good while

I can recommend the Green. I have the accordion 26mm and the standard 24mm in Green. Probably my favourite colour OEM Rubber Straps.

Can I just add to my comments by saying that they apply mainly to Panerai leather straps the rubber straps that panerai make are really well made

Using the blue accordion one now on the 190 may well add a green 26mm next

    Thanks for info

Perfect timing on the strap talk.

I'm away for a few weeks and debating what watch to take. It will be a warm beach holiday but i find my 005 uncomfy on the Panerai rubber. Love it on a leather strap but that wounldn't think me for taking into the sea.

Any other recommendations - that don't cost the same as just buying an Apple watch to use on holiday?

Waterproof leather strap? They do exist. I have a Dirk Incursore 5218 strap that's seawaterproof to 7000ft for 50 hours. As it happens I'm wearing it today (on a Gruppo Gamma, not Panerai). You'll struggle to fine one of these now but there must be other waterproof leather straps?

Or sharkskin maybe? I just think the Luminor looks so much better not on a black rubber strap

Have a look at rubber b swimskin

    https://rubberb.com/blog/rubber-b-concept/#swimskin

Not tried myself and not cheap but does look good.

I used to own the base 560 which Wandril now does & I had 2 waterproof leather straps. One OEM from Panerai used to be under the description calf cashmere gold strap. My favourite OEM strap which I used many times swimming. It did age over a period of time though.

The other was Kodiak strap bought from the US. Much stiffer than OEM but great for water use & didn’t age.

Believe Di Stefano (spelling unsure) used to make a few as well.

How about a canvas strap, let it dry out in the sun

Have you tried both styles of rubber straps? You may find the 'accordion' ones feel different to the standard one. Plenty of aftermarket ones are available too.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a grey crocodile strap with contrasting stitching for my PAM 510?

I've gone a bit mental on corriga straps since Xmas. They are already on sale, and with stock50 code you are getting 50% off the sale price, just bought my 5th strap this year, all my pams and my BBB are rocking corriga

Echo that. Wouldn’t touch any of his stuff anymore. Prices up, quality down.

And don’t get me started on his watches.

Not piling on Rob just a fair comment on your experience. The right strap made right with the right experience of buying is important and thats why I only use 2 people.

Bought this 425 exactly 10 years ago today. Not been serviced yet, keeps great time with a recently measured 79 hours of power reserve and still on the original leather strap. I really enjoy wearing it, it’s had plenty of wrist time and I doubt I’d ever sell.

Agreed, bought one in the sale which was returned. It was the worst quality aftermarket strap I have ever bought. Garbage.

Slightly OT but at the cinema this week with my 5yr old & watching the trailers as you do. New animated Garfield movie (Garfield voiced by Chris Pratt - Panerai wearer) & it looked like Garfield owner (John) is wearing one https://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi58...f_=ext_shr_sms

But how have people found the non-OEM straps? From buystrap for example, for £30. I'm not sure on the mark up on the Pam oem rubber strap but it must be HUGE!
