You've done a very good job.
It's quite pleasing to see the end results of a watch refurb, especially a DIY one.
I was sent this 6105 that I was tasked to do a tidy and full relume. And so I wanted to post here to show you all as was quite proud of how it turned out.
Before-shot shows some blackening and poor hand condition. Cleaned up well, really, but I wanted to get rid of the poor wear around the centre hole from hand removal in the past so tackled that aswell. This is tricky and can involve some rather hard work...
Tried my best to match the original lume tone but also wanted it to look a little fresher. The seconds hand I always attempt to mimic the original "red dot".
Glowing pretty nicely.
I guess I wanted to show what a relume can be like with a watch that can look a little worn. The dial wasn't bad, but with the hands cleaned up and the relume of the dial in place now, I think it works well. Plus it is nice to see a 6105 glow like it might have 45 years ago. :)

Yup it was heart in mouth stuff at times...it is surprisingly tricky to get a nice layer of lume set in place in these plots.
Nicely done, it looks really good.
Excellent work, love these kind of posts👍
Work of art and superb result.
Great post. How do you clean up what looks like corroded hands? Must be very satisfying!
I was going to ask the same question - they look like brand new ones. Lovely job!

Thank you for the kind comments all.
As for the hands, well sometimes you get lucky in that the tarnishing is superficial. They aren't perfect, but did clean up extremely well. A relume helps a lot but any areas of the hands where the blackening has taken hold can eat at the plating and expose the brass. Sometimes this is so minor that under magnification (x35) that you can see it, but to the naked eye is barely visible. You can see in a couple of pictures there is some slight scratching, however overall the plating survived fairly well and so with a light polish they turned out ok.
Very nicely done OP.
I've never owned one of these but have seen from your posts that you restore/repair a fair few so good on you.
The dial work is excellent, although that crystal does spoil the overall effect.

Looks great Guy. Reluming can polarise opinion but for me...this works wonderfully.

Cheers all.
Yes the crystal will be changed I just stuck it back together to give the owner an idea. Should look much better once complete.
That really does look super - well done.
I am guessing you kept off the coffee that day!
Hah yes indeed. Amazing how much caffeine affects you with stuff like this.
Wow. Maybe you were a pro watch restorer in a previous life. You have skills, sir.
