UPDATED: Rolex 116713 just serviced by rolex

Finally giving up with the stupid games that AD’s play.

I’ve been offered the above by a bricks and mortar AD, the watch is full b&p and has just underwent a full refurb at Rolex so it has the stickers attached.

Price is £8595 with a 1 year guarantee from the AD and of course the remainder of the Rolex warranty.

Is this a good deal? I’ve tried negotiating a little off the price, but no joy they gave me the usual spiel about how it’s an appreciating asset etc etc.

Out of a full Rolex refurb it's a decent price.

    How old is it?

No informed opinion but WF have one less than a year old for £9,750 - so 4 years (min) warranty vs 2 year service warranty?

Lovely watches, I’ve 2 in my time and do regret no longer having the TT look.

Probaly the going rate currently within the market even though the two tone gmt has never been a popular as the two tone Sub. With the Rolex service it is good for the next 5-10 years, £8.2/8.3K would be a sweet spot but at £8.5 not a bad price as long as you forget about the appreciating assest crap talk from the AD for a few years.

I think it would be unusual for a watch to have been sent for a service if it was less than 5 years old. A refinish will make the watch look new but it won't address things like bracelet stretch and, even carried out expertly, you are losing something of the original case and bracelet, if you know what I mean.

Subject to more details, I'd be tempted to enquire about the WF one. If it's "as new", then I'd be tempted to find another £1,000 odd.

The watch is a 2009 and there isn’t a mark on it.

The gold middle links changed when the watches went from aluminium inserts to Ceramic. Previously they were the thin wrap around type and can be subject to stretch, but the post 2010 / Ceramic introduction the links are solid and as such will do the job better and last a lot longer.
