    Arnie's back! H558 reissue announced.

This may have been posted already but one of the Baselworld releases from Seiko which got me excited was this reissue of a watch I sold many years ago and I will probably buy this. Many say the hands are too small etc but they were on the original. I also like the new style pushers.

    More info here.

    Nice collection!

I agree the a reissue of the orange H558 would have been very welcome.

The Pepsi reissue does nothing for me but the black version is a definite purchase for me. Looks like a very good recreation to my eyes and the bezel insert looks great.

I would’ve been interested if they hadn’t added the two crowns on the left side. Why?

Wow - Blast from the past! Those look cool, I'm not sure I want to pay £400+ for it though.

I sold my original Arnie for a couple of hundred quid before the prices went into the stratosphere. Would most definitely like to try another one.

My first expensive watch when I was 17 was one of these H558 Seiko’s so out of nostalgia I guess I might have to get one, as others have said it’s a pity they added the two extra crowns, I would have preferred Quartz like the original too.

Thanks Neil for posting this. I heard the rumour and had a look thins morning but couldn't Find anything.
I like this, particularly the solar element, so will likely get one.
I still have my old H558 which ticks along.

Glad to see the Arnie reborn. The original was always a cult classic with history to back it up. Prices for a quartz watch were alway rising also.

Mine was bought new by my dad when I was born and passed to me on my 18th. The original watch that got me into watches. Now currently 34yrs old & could do with a battery change. Must take it into Seiko London soon IMG_2566.JPGGPTempDownload.jpg

I think they’re screw down pushers which I don’t mind at all as they seem to balance out the large time adjustment crown.

I really don’t think you can beat a good Ana/digi for legibility combined with practicality. And this seems to be a sector that has been almost entirely ignored for the last 15 years at least - with the exception of very pricey Omega and Breitling models, and g shocks which seem to sacrifice legibility even though they’re affordable. Solar is great as long as it doesn’t render the alarm almost useless that those on my solar atomic G’s! - I can definitely see one of these in my future

I like it! Shame the shroud is plastic though, it cheapens it. Love my x-33 for ana digi.
