    GAYE

I've made regular charity donations directly from my salary for many years now. As my company matches my donation, I've always figured this is the best way to donate.

But, I've just noticed that according to my payslip, my charitable donations are taken out after tax (i.e. from my net earnings), whereas I thought they came out before tax (i.e. my gross earnings).

    Anyone know which is correct?

Doesn't it come from NET but then they get the TAX back as you're a UK resident?

Is it not after your NI is deducted but before tax is taken off? I've been donating via GAYE for the past 22 years so would like to know as well.

I was wrong, sorry, the GAYE deduction from my gross pay.

It just looked like it wasn’t on my pay slip, but I got my head around the maths and all seems OK.
