Latest Tudor Basel teaser really has me stumped

With a week to go it seems a sub or bb58 with subdial is on the cards but the latest teaser really has me scratching my head. Is it glidelock, or quick change strap mechanism? Or is it rubber? Basically wtf is it?

Surpassed yourselves in the social media tease stakes this year Tudor I must admit.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu_nen-n...=18bp7kr6vf63ldoes look like drilled lugs? Which if true might mean NOT a bb58 case? But then it could be the strap joining to the clasp lol

Clasp? Divers extension/slide-lock sort of thing???

They have me a little hooked! I went to my AD the other day and told them if a BB58 with date comes out I want top of the list.
Same if they do a full size BB with date and coloured bezel.
I wouldn’t even haggle over it!

I think they are trying to say that Tudors are designed by people who can’t draw.

I'm almost expect Hercule Poroit to appear and do the grand reveal...talking 'mes amis' through the clues. Basel world will be flat with out it

I have to agree too. It's drawn quite badly even for a sketch.

Looks like a potential quick release system.
It's just a matter of time...

It's a hint that future GMT issues will be supplied with a pencil and parchment calendar as a date fall-back...

That drawing really is awful. I can't believe a company as big as Tudor would have OKed such a sixth form drawing study?

Ah ok, a Sub dial. Gotcha! To be honest, the more teasers I see the less I am interested in this new model / variant. If there's a cracking blue BB58 alongside it then great otherwise I may just go with the current 58.

The teasers have shown actually fairly little. What in them has you not liking it?

The deep rehaut and the triangular quarter markers is the "wrong" period of vintage inspiration for me. And if it comes on rubber with deployant like the latest teaser suggests it could really be a mish mash of styles.

Trying not to fall in to the annual pre-Basel guessing game but it's hard when I'm very keen for a 58 and desperate to know if there's something "better" coming!

I imagine a lot of people are hoping for something very specific and if it doesn’t materialise they will default to the 58.

Out of interest. How quickly will the first watches be delivered after Basel?

I believe the 58 and the GMT arrived initially around late June / early July but weren't available in any real numbers until August/September. No assurances this would be the same. If it's a new case it could be longer.

My AD told me late July if you’re on the top of the list.... which I am if they do a 58 date!

Cheers folks. I’ll no doubt be on the list and they are the sort of time frames I was expecting.

Looks like a strap release system on a tonneau case, RM style.
    But that cant be right.

Same width as strap suggests clasp rather than case I think

Wait six months for a watch with a date ‘complication’ wear it for a month tops, then have to send it back because it’s too complicated and then wait another three months for it still not to be fixed.

I can’t see what the excitement is all about

Agree, to have designers with that level of skills is already sad but to communicate as a teaser is really a shame.

Lol I think it’s deliberately in the roughest sketch form so you can’t read much into it. Dang there are some overly serious sorts on here.

Because some people who frequent this forum are interested in what new watches may or may not be released at the show.

Others do nothing but make stupid comments on threads...

AD up here told me there's a submariner coming, and that the bronze BB will be discontinued.

As an aside, he was also wearing a blue bezel BB with 'chronometer' in red. Only 9 ever produced apparently. Never even heard of one before, but with that sort of relationship with Tudor I reckon he might be right..

If they do launch a Submariner what do we think the RRP will be? Somewhere between £2,500 and £2,750? That pitches it above the BB 41 and below the GMT?

If a Submariner is the new release I wonder what will happen too demand for the current must have BB58 & Gmt. It appears that the 58 & Gmt had an impact on sales of the older models within the range, suspect a new submariner could have an impact on all the other models within the Tudor catalogue.

There will always be people who want a BB, GMT, Pelagos etc bit of course the focus will be on the new model.... until next Basel world ...

Right, please excuse a stupid question, but I’m here to learn. Here goes, what are likely to be the key differences between a Tudor sub and a black bay?

Is it the change in water resistance, smaller size, snowflake hands and bezel that marks the difference?

Until we see it we can’t say. If you looo at the older subs it is quite a different watch. Square markers, deeper edges on the bezel, crown guards on the case, potentially different hands, potentially more water resistance.

What’s the official reveal data be time for Tudor?

I heard that they usually pop something on social media the morning of release. Sometimes the day before (according to my AD this weekend)
