What were they thinking? I look forward to the next round with interest. It can only get better right?

1014 in gold is hardly limited !! Not my taste at all but they have been faithful to the original
Wonder how many of the originals they sold in the day

I like it, love the colours and overall look as well.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I like it, but not at £25k.
Agree it won’t be the only 50th LE we will see this year.

    I like the watch personally!

But I find the whole Omega/moonwatch/limited edition thing a bit tedious now.

It looks like quite a faithful homage to the original. Not sure why there is quite a bit of hate for it. The price isn’t too crazy for all gold, and looks are for the buyer to decide. I doubt I’d buy one over other £25k choices but it’s not a horrible watch, and nice to see a different shade of gold too.
It's just a matter of time...

Would really need to see it in the flesh, not sure, but at that price not going to happen, I have easily 3 maybe 4 other watches. Maybe 5 even.

White gold with a red bezel would have made a much nicer proposition than this. Soon to be seen on the wrist of some plastic gansta somewhere

Like it or not, is this not the ideal "flip" or "investment" watch...?
With such limited numbers, and the whole anniversary thingy is it not a sure thing for prices to rise...

not for me, but if i thought i could make 5K off it (and had 25k lying around)... well.....

Doubt it. Hell of a sunk cost, limited demand for YG when you can have TT or Rose gold in other brands for less cash. And, the Speedy has been milked to annihilation...

50th Anniversary Speedmaster launched - 1014 in yellow gold

Not for me but I spoke to one of the team at one of the London boutiques and he thinks its stunning in real life

This is one Speedmaster that I feel will definitely go up in value but if I wanted an investment Speedmaster, the Ultraman would be the way I’d go as it’s a nicer, wearable watch as well

Think I’ll wait for the all gold limited edition with a snoopy on the sub dial.

I have the same with moon-2-mars version. The only Speedmaster discounted in AD almost 10 years ago.
Saw, checked and gave up - mainly because of ugly subdials. It was for less than 1000£, new, boxed...

Has anyone else got their name down for one of these? I have to say, having seen the Rolex 2019 newbies announced earlier today - as underwhelming as they are - I am glad to have something different in the pipeline.

My AD has got an allocation and has put it aside for me I understand as he thinks I may love it, I really like YG watches and have not purchased Omega before so definitely interested. Seems a high price tag though, but it’s a beautiful watch, looking forward to seeing it in person.

And the price is now even higher, £26,480 :( according to Regent Street.

Wow it is quite the price tag, not sure I can justify it, but am really looking forward to viewing it, and who knows what will happen in the heat of the moment!

I have quite a big birthday looming this year and was hoping that there might be a really nice 50th model to throw some money at but this one certainly isn’t it :(

There's a steel anniversary version of the Moonwatch on the way - 6969 pieces and it'll have some yellow gold highlights making it slightly two-tone.

No, but it was shown at the Omega meeting around Basel time (which they didn't attend). Gold bezel with gold surround chrono rings, special caseback etc are what's expected based on what was seen at the trade meeting.

  38. #88
Well if that’s is true then with that edition size we shouldn’t see many speculators and we should be able to get hold of one if the price is sensible!

    Yep, should be loads available.

Gold lunar module within the running seconds subdial too, apparently.

If there is this much gold then we are most likely looking at a £7-8k price

    Maybe even more!

Only ~3x number of the Speedy Tuesdays. I suspect they'll still be hard to get.

  42. #92
Maybe but it seems as most limited editions struggle once they get past 3,000!

Bumping an old thread. Recently saw this WF video talking about the 50th Anniversary 'Moonshine'. The video is great as usual from WF and worth a look:

I quite like the watch, but doubt I could pull if off in the real world!

Wow just wow. That is stunning!
