I think it's the angle of the camera - but I'll pop into St. James and have it checked out in due course.

My steel GMT had a slightly wonky cyclops. Was sorted at service

That's more than a little annoying for watches that cost as much as these do. I sent my SubC date back after I realised that the bezel markers dodn't quite line up perfectly. It does remind you that Rolex are not the last word in qc.

  4. #54
The cyclops on my hulk was wonky, AD sent it off and it was sorted. They also gave me a letter stating that my first service will be free.
I think you have captured the watch and colours really well, I would want to try it on a vintage leather strap from Wotancraft.

Your watch looks amazing, I think this is my new favourite Rolex.
I need to try one on if, and when they become more available.

Nice pictures. I’m coming round to these again, hopefully they lose a bit of value and I can try one.

Ooops! But you have the lovely Pepsi right? Must meet for a beer sometime - as we have offices in Henley - better make it soon though. All the best!

These would look great on an oysterflex or Everest strap.

    Congrats OP
I picked mine up just the week before (well 8 days according to photo). Wish I could use a camera like you do!

Interestingly I turned down the option to buy one of these a couple of months ago. I then visited my AD on a Tuesday simply to say I'd like to change my mind, that I now wanted one. That very same Friday I had a call to say they had one, I could have it, if I picked it up before the end of the weekend.

As I think this would look great. Any recommendations as to where to buy these or indeed copies to mock it up?

You can buy Everest from here: https://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/accessories/ I have a cheap rubber strap you could try with, if you give me a pm.

For me it’s not coming off the bracelet.

I was thinking of trying mine on the bracelet from my SubC, but decided that as the RG is more subtle than YG I would leave as is.

Stunning. There’s something special about Rolex rose gold and with the bezel colours and the gold dial indices and text, the contrast with the stainless steel is perfect.

Are you going to keep your other two-tone watches?

Good choice Martyn, the best ceramic GMT. I think it made many of us rethink two tone. Enjoy!

The YM sadly had to be sold to fund this one. The Omega TT Seamaster is staying (for now)..

Martyn, what a great acquisition. Well done and enjoy. But please, take a pic to show that the cyclops is not as squiffy as it looks in these.😉

What do you think? TBH I can’t see sqiffness wearing it. But I may take it to St James for their expert opinion. Not just yet though as I am enjoying it too much!

I would say just a tad, but I have never looked at the tolerances of these. Their very purpose and shape distorts the natural view of a dial. I will check my Sky Dweller later.

That’s a beauty indeed, very tempting to see if I can put a deal together with my SD43 for one of these.

Lovely watch, the rose gold really gives a warmth to it.

Very rare to see one in the wild but a chap next to me on a flight had one in which I kept stealing looks at. Must have thought me very strange!

Enjoy it in good health :)

Partly inspired by following your acquisition of this watch, I’m now picking one up this weekend, having tried one on last weekend and loved it!

My first GMT and also first TT.

So, basically it’s all your fault really...!

Going by this image the cyclops is not applied straight, it might just be the image although everything else looks square on. If your okay with it then fine but I would be getting that sorted.
Put it this way, If you were to ask is this real or a fake going by this image then you might get some unfavorable answers based on the cyclops..

Stunning watch though that must look beautiful on the wrist.

Interesting. Never thought about the ‘real - fake’ thing. Luckily this one was bought from an AD in its little coffin and registered with receipt. Maybe having a wonky cyclops makes it more authentic - as any fake would ensure to get it right!

I must say say it is a looker. The bezel edge sparkles in daylight and colouring is superb.

At some point I may take it to RSJ to get the crystal / cyclops replaced - but it doesn’t bother me (too much) at present.
