Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with this sort of stuff.
The wife is beginning to struggle on her own with post stroke care for her mum. Needs for someone say 14 15 hrs per week
It is said that she would rather stay in her own home rather than go in to a care home with a load of old duffers :-)
Any experiences or pointers would be much appreciated.

Research is key. There's a lot of variables, for instance if Mum is paying privately for care or not etc. A good starting point for agencies in your area is the CQC website.
