I'm in a lot of lust for this one. Ultra thin, toubillion, ceramic.

I really like ceramic, I bought a ceramic rado a decade ago and it still looks brand new, not a single scratch on it. Whilst I accept scratches as a part of life it still annoys me a bit when I discover a new one so this is the perfect solution especially for a watch as prone to scratches as the royal oak. My only issue is I'm not sure I could justify paying the price for this ceramic watch over the precious metal variants. Still that would be a very nice problem to have!

Looks great, a little smaller and without the tourbillon and I’d been convinced. Certainly a very interesting watch.

My thoughts exactly. As for the perfect watch. When I do decide to sell my collection I will keep the Seiko hi beat and my Omega great white GMT.

Yes...for me I'd described it as downright UGLY!

Interesting watch but would look better without tourbillion-never been a fan of that complication.

Agreed; it would also need to be an auto to be a perfect watch for me.

Me too, I appreciate the engineering that went into my cars gear box but I don’t care to see it while driving. The steel AP Royal Oak is a good as it gets.

I don't need or want a toubillion either but it doesn't half set off that gorgeous dial!

I absolutely get why you like this, it’s a fantastic looking thing and made in a reasonable size.

I don't understand the screw/bolt things? If they are screws, then they can't turn due to the hex recess they sit in, and if they are bolts then why do they need a slot? They remind me of the fake screws on the old G-Shock Rangeman.

I think it’s hideous, can’t stand black watches, I wouldn’t wear this to dig the garden.

I have very wide and varied taste, but it doesn’t stretch to this!

I really appreciate the quality more so this week, but black/PVD/ceramic does nothing for me..

So this week I went to a local auction and this Royal Oak Offshore was there, guide was £9k - £12K, it sold for £16.5k + 24% = just under £24K, yes it was unworn but was owned, still way over the Chrono24 prices for watches with their stickers, was very nice to handle one though..

The perfect watch for me would have to have a date so this is not it!!!

I'm struggling to find something to like on it. Maybe the integrated bracelet but it would have to be steel, not black.

Im a huge fan of AP but that leaves me a bit cold im afraid, I prefer the ceramic perpetual calendar. Cant cope with the sunburst style when everyone knows it should be a grid!

    Nope!
If it is the one that fits it all, it should be elegant/sporty/solid/water resistant/necessary complications/timeless and for this one IMHO of course:
    1. black watches are never elegant!
    2. too big for it to be discreet
    3. ceramic is still too brittle and not elegant
    4. tourbillon in a sportwatch is like a crystal chandelier in a lorry
    5. no date
    6. it is not pretty to look
    7. visibility is poor

I am likely in the minority but I've yet to see a Royal Oak I did not find hideous.

Well I’m certainly in your camp - so you’re not alone.

Sorry gray, I’m delighted you’re delighted by it, but it would definitely not be on my Christmas list...

Nice watch. But an unnecessary complication in my view.

Agreed with most of the comments left,I personally like absolutely nothing about it.
    At all.

And had to check the price exchange rate a couple of times as I thought I had typed in a couple of extra digits

    Just shy of...

    £117k!!!!!!

The older i get the more i realize that so many things we argue about in life are opinion based but we treat them as facts, binary yes no questions!
I dont think that's the sentiment here though!

Nice watch, but even if i had the spare finances i wouldn't get this ever. Too busy, to stylized, doesn't look worth the price ( from the photos at least).

I have an APRO 15202. Had this for nearly 4 years and have never got bored of it. Also, has calmed down the flipping stage I went through.

    Great watch.

I first spotted a similar model (with white dial) on a colleagues wrist and thought it looked amazing. Over the years Ive since tried a few too - just browsing - and nothing dented my enthusiasm for the overall design and especially dial. I have no desire for a date in the design though.

Someday I'll sell all my watches, delete all watch-related webpages and buy an AP RO! ;-)
