    Anyone recommend a good IFA?

Specifically pension provision, I want to set up a private pension alongside my work one and also a stocks and shares ISA with a growth focus. I'm in Kingston/London area. Recommendations gratefully received.

I use Greystone Financial Services based in Altrincham, however, they do have offices in London. I've been with them for about 15 years and I'm happy with their service. Also, they managed the pension fund of my last employer.

Have you considered posting your position over on the MSE investments or pensions page ? Often you will get very good responses from IFAs for free if you make a bit of an effort to present your position and aims.

Don’t be in a rush to employ the services of an IFA if your position isn’t overly complex and you would be happy to invest passively in index funds for long term growth.

Question to ask an IFA that you are interviewing,

"How many of your clients did you recommend to divest their equity holdings in 2007 ??"

I only need an IFA to execute some stuff that I can't as a no rights consumer in this godforsaken country.

My four year old picked better winners in the 90's than my brokers, my bankers and my IFA's

WTF is this - I have right to charge a percentage of your investment - for what - advice ? Leeches and parasites.

As an IFA of over 30 years I'd have to say very funny.
    Errrr..I think....
How's things in the world rocket scientology and brain surgery these days?

What's your recommendation for people wanting CETV's these days and how do figures compare to 2017?

Was it the mix of humour and truth that threw you ??

SO it was scientology that made me, against all of my financial advisors' recommendations, cash in my holdings (pension and private) then reinvest after the crash - I am a lot better off now than I would have been if I had followed their advice.

Did you recommend the same for your clients ?? Rocket science or brain surgery it ain't.

I haven't noticed any no win no fees IFAs in the market yet have you ?

That'll be heresy I guess - so that's heresy, humour and truth.

I must admit I tend to agree with you Brian.

Knowing some IFA's years ago I made it my business to learn about investment myself.

Why give a percentage of your hard earned to someone else?
    Cheers,
    Neil.
