    Signet Insurance Card

After a recent burglary I am being paid out for my watches and jewellery in Signet insurance card.

Question is if I want say a speedmaster can I negotiate from 3600 to say 3000 then use the card or with the card is it only full price 3680 ?

Anyone have experience with the Signet card ?

Long time since, but I had post-burglary vouchers and negotiated 10% off an Omega, then paid with vouchers. Hope you manage!

Doubt you’ll be discounted in any way

I would imagine your insurers get any discount going via their and the retailers arrangement with Signet

I have been through exactly that experience, though it was a few years ago. Basically there is no discount at all available when paying with an insurance card, since there will have already been a significant discount, like circa 30% provided by Signet to the insurance company so Signet can't allow double discount on the purchase, that makes no business sense. They will take the card on sale items but not offer any further discount in my experience. Insurance is a bit of a scam. They insure a £3,600 risk, but no one actually pays that for the replacement watch, least of all the insurance company.

Hi OP, sadly no discount with the insurance card but hey it’s worth a try the worst they can say is no.

You can insist on a cash settlement instead of the card. I have no idea what jewellery was taken in particular, but make sure you can get a true equivalent to that taken.
