    RIP Andrew Preview

Sad to hear that André Previn passed away today. He was 89, so a good innings.
He'll always be remembered as Andrew Preview in the iconic Morecambe and Wise sketch.

It was a great sketch, although it would be a shame if that's all he is remembered for. He was a fine classical and a great Jazz pianist who released some iconic albums in the 60s.

I rather think he loved being on M&W, despite being a “serious” musician.

Maybe he thought it would lighten up the stuffy image of classical music at the time.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have several albums in my music collection.

He composed numerous film scores too, including My Fair Lady which won him one of his four Oscars. Quite a life.

He played that sketch brilliantly, I remember afterwards he advertised Ferguson TV's especially the ones with stereo sound, my family didn't buy though.

Watched the M&W sketch at Christmas and it's up there with "Don't tell em Pike" that will never be forgotten. RIP Andrew Privet.

Old musicians don't die... they just decompose.

    A very talented man.

That's what I first remember him from. Early childhood memory recalled!
