PRS-5 on eBay - ending today

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

How strange - can't believe that - but no-one else put another bid on it - so it went for £490.00. I was expecting a rush of last minute bidding

He's sold quite a lot of Timefactors watches in the last year!

Anyone got an idea of who he is?

It’s me! I have 2 lads at university and HMRC has hollowed me out this year

I don’t have enough posts for SC yet and won’t falsely post to use - all things in steady time.

I still have a core of Timefactors watches (PRS - 1/2/23/53/18/45) that I’ll be keeping but needs must when the tax man cometh

Needs must sometimes, I also realised that you can’t wear them all ..,

The main participants in that auction were (probably still are) very naive about bidding tactics, that's for sure.

No doubt the reason that not a single further bid came in for such a very long time (5 days!) before it finally ended was that wiser prospective buyers who had either put instructions into their sniping engines, or who were at least waiting until the eleventh hour before entering the fray, found that these two had bid up the price in an early bilateral bidding war beyond a figure they thought was reasonable. Just what you hope for when selling, but definitely not the way to go about buying anything on Ebay!

As you say, needs must. A shame though as you're clearly a big fan of Eddie's pieces and hopefully you will be able to replace your collection in the future.

Perhaps a link to future PRS sales would benefit you and us?

I will only be putting one more PRS to sale in the near future, a Speedbird 1903

I can let people know it’s out there. The irony is that I will probably re-acquire a number that have been sold, but needs must this FY

There is another one on eBay at the moment, currently £275.00

A PRS-12 (1903 Speedbird) will be going up on Sunday
