Elvis marriage in Vegas - recommendations?

My daughter wants to get married in Vegas in a ceremony conducted by am Elvis impersonator.

(I sound like good fun and I am tempted to do the same!)

Google throws up loads of ads for this. Cant see any inclusive packages with accommodation and flights though.

Anyone on here done this and care to share recommendations etc?

I’ve witnessed a few over the times I’ve been out to Vegas. All seem very informal and good fun
Mainly just when walking/staggering around in the early hours up and down the strip
There used to be loads of chapels for wedding
It’s been 10 yrs since I went. First time 1990.
The little white chapel is famous and very pleasant

I wanted to do this and almost had the wife convinced but then she remembered she had half a million relatives and very few of them could afford to fly to the US. We were married at Brooklands instead, in the club house. Which was great, but it wasn't Elvis in Vegas.

The more that I think about this the more I want to do it.

Just spoken to the current "Mrs" V and she is up for it. Her father who hailed from Mauritious was a big Elvis fan.

I wonder if they will do a double wedding?

We did it in 2014 at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Vegas.

Elvis was great as were the folks there and the witnesses.

Can’t remember how much the full package was but the whole trip including a week in Vegas and a week in Disney California were cheaper than any “normal” wedding any of my mates have mentioned...

I got married in Vegas, can thoroughly recommend it. We got married here, they do an Elvis package if you're interested:

I did the first time around in the Mandalay Bay hotel. Seem to remember it was very very easy. Just had to show passports I think to get the licence. Not all the paperwork you have to have here and of course it is valid here.

    Thoroughly recommend.

You'll need a blue suede watch strap to match your shoes for the ceremony. Of course the quiff is already in place. ;-)

My mother and sister got married (not to each other) in a joint ceremony at the Excalibur in Vegas. Not by an Elvis but by a wizard, in keeping with the Arthurian theme of the hotel.

I walked them up the aisle - one on each arm - and gave them away. It was an absolute hoot.

Try travel agents if you want an all in one wedding package including flights accommodation etc. I know kuoni and virgin holidays do them for Vegas and think Tui may do so as well.

When I was in Vegas as part of my honeymoon a couple had just got married and did the slotzilla zipline down fremont street at 2am in the morning absolutely steamin and still in wedding dress etc. They were absolutely mad. Still provided entertainment whilst queing for the ride.

For the sake of completeness I thought that I would post an update on this - just in case anyone else is contemplating it.

We had our ceremony on Tuesday after booking it direct with the Graceland Wedding Chapel.

It was just over £500 which included a stretched limo from the hotel to the chapel and then on to a restaurant afterwards, an ordained minister, an Elvis impersonator, a photographer, live streaming on Facebook and button hole / posy for the bride. Photographs were extra but can be ordered at your leisure over the internet for up to a year. The video can be accessed at any time via the 'videos' section of the chapels website.

We had pre-ordered the marriage licence from the court house on line so collecting this the day before was very straightforward (£78)

The ceremony was performed by a French minister (which added to the eccentricity of the evening) who was lovely and very humorous. Elvis - sang a song, gave the bride away and then sang a further two songs which entailed our active participation. He was superb, really professional.

Our family, who could not be there, loved watching the video - they couldn't do it live as we were married at 8pm which would have meant that they had to be awake at 4am!

We got home this morning and watched the video again and there are many highlights that really made us laugh. I particularly like the bit where the minister said, "who gives this woman etc" and Elvis announces "Elvis Presley, king of rock and roll...." Outstanding!

This may not be for everyone but if it does seem like a fun and memorable way to get hitched I would say just do it!

Oh, and being as this is after all a watch forum here is a shot of my wedding watch

    Just awesome!

A work colleague had recently renewed their vows with an Elvis themed do, and said it was so much fun.

I think if I ever managed to get round to it again I'd look at something similar - fly away, leave family and friends behind, and have a quiet ceremony for two.

    All the best!

Congratulations mate. Looks like you had a great time and that is quite the wedding shirt! I am however disappointed that you never started a "What watch to wear when getting married by Elvis in Las Vegas" thread.

Oddly enough the watch choice was an easy one - for some reason that I cant quite put my finger on the GW5000 felt right. Weird as its not colour coordinated, garish or in your face. Perhaps its something of an eccentric accessory, the odd juxtaposition of the flowery and colourful with the understated and mundane? Vegas seems to be awash with Rolex's and huge shiny fashion pieces etc - I really didn't feel like joining in.

Apropos earlier comments about blue suede shoes, I went for some purple suede ones to match my shirt from a specialist dealer in LA.

Interestingly, a number of complete strangers come up to me to say that they loved these whilst I walked through and had a drink in the Luxor.

    Despite myself I love America!

As previously mentioned, Mrs V's father (who is sadly no longer with us) came to this country from Mauritius. He arrived in the 50's just as Elvis was becoming a huge star and he remained a fan all of his life, sporting the quiff and sideburns into his 60's. Mrs V said that he would have absolutely loved this - so it was also a kind of nod to him as well.

    Ha ha!

Well they've certainly amazed a number of people who never envisaged me ever wearing anything like this!

Congratulations Ian , you both look really happy . I'm glad you went against the grain and wore something totally non-Vegas with the 5000! Why not .

If you got married in Vegas and it didn't work out, could you "Return to Sender" because she became a "Hound Dog" and a "Devil in Disguise"? Is the champagne "All Shook Up"? Do you get discount at the "Heartbreak Hotel"?

We had a room at the Luxor - reasonably prices package but there was an additional service charge plus tax to pay that came to $40 per day!

Its not a cheap location as regards how much food, drink and entertainment go - I guess that it doesn't need to be as there isn't really any competition.

The weather was between 28 and 30 degrees - very nice!

Yes all of that I guess. Heres hoping that there will be no need for suspicious minds leading to being lonesome tonight

We had our Vegas wedding in April...It was so much fun.
No guests, just us two...Everything was taken care of so we partied for 5 days!
We didn't have Elvis but I'm pretty sure Pablo Escobar is alive and well and currently working in the Special Memory Chapel.

    Your pictures are great..Congratulations :)
