Thread: Question re glue (epoxy or no more nails)?

Question re glue (epoxy or no more nails)?

I am looking to fix a wooden chess board to the top of a folding metal table.
Which would be the best adhesive to use for this ie epoxy resin or no more nails? Thanks

Either would work as joint doesn't have to be strong. No more nails probably cheaper.

Edit: - Might be better with something like double-sided adhesive sheet if you ever want to separate items.

Which is stronger with greater impact resistance, epoxy or no more nails?

If either of the items, particularly the metal table top, has any flex, you might be better off with a flexible adhesive, such as Tech7. I'm not impressed with 'No More Nails' or 'Gripfill' as they tend to dry out over time.

    I'd recommend CT1.

You won’t get much stronger than 24 hour epoxy. It’ll never move.

I don’t understand gorilla glue, the foaming stuff makes a hell of a mess and the other stuff is just branded wood/super/epoxy glue.

    Evo-stick mitre glue, that’s all

I think you’ll need to cope with differential expansion and contraction so something flexible is a must.

CT-1 will do the trick nicely.

A bit left field but silicone sealer? A few dabs and press down or you could go around all round the edge of the board? Would allow you to remove it at a later stage if you ever needed to?
