    eBay, authenticity verified.

Those of you that use eBay, I’m sure have seen this. eBay has a tick and authenticity verified against some watches. Does anyone know how they do this? What guarantees that offers. Ie all parts including movement verified? And if it guarantees it, how long does that last.

Seems like a ploy to convince prospective buyers to actually hit the buy button, how can Ebay possibly verify the authenticity of anything, are they watch experts now... They must be relying on the seller to provide that info, or am I just being a cynical old git...

That’s what I’m thinking, but was interested to find out if anyone on here knew exactly what that verification was.

For handbags/purses the seller can ship the item to their 'expert' for verification as part of the listing process.

So in essence, not worth anything really.
