My wife has moved to an iPhone from an Android and wants to access her old WhatsApp messages archived on Google Drive.
From what I've read not easy and not sure some of the suggestions even work. Has anyone here actually done this and how? Thanks.

If you're moving from one type of phone to another, such as from an iPhone to an Android, and preserving your number, you'll keep your account info. This information is tied to the phone number. Simply download WhatsApp on the new phone and verify your number.
Note: You can't migrate your messages across different types of phone.
As far as I know its not possible.
The encryption used on iCloud and Google Drive for Whatsapp chat logs are entirely different, as well as being different encryption keys. Found out the hard way recently after switching from Android to iOS.

I moved the other way from IPhone to android a few months ago.
You can only 3rd party your history across but it was quite a long process so I ended up just saving any pictures I wanted and just lost the chat history.
What I did if you want to keep the actual data is export the chats with pictures, it opens it in a text viewer not WhatsApp but if it’s just for reference it’s ok.

I moved iPhone to samsung, and it isn’t possible. Lots of companies online - offer to do it, but I’ve not actually read of any being successful.
It’s a pain, for sure.
