    Blue Dials

I am on the hunt for a blue dialled watch. As my collection is mostly either chronos or flight related and between 40-42mm I am keen on something in that realm

My current grail is the VC Overseas chrono - either version 2 or 3 and I have looked at the Speedmasters (japan olympic and Gemini 4) although one thing I have realised is that in the Speedmasters' case the silver colour of the hands going over the pandas makes it quite difficult to read.... I've also looked at Breitling Premiere...

    .

So any thoughts or ideas for a blue faced watch would be much appreciated!

I love that VC but perhaps with a blue strap?

it's actually blue but the photo above doesn't do it justice - the version 3 of the VC comes with three straps that are interchangeable - one blue rubber (as below), one blue leather croc and one steel bracelet....Sadly the whole at some cost!

I really like blue dials, here are my three, all rather lovely in their own way, I think.

That’s fantastic - definitely the one I would go for on looks and you don’t see many of them around either.

Nice collection! There was a comment on another thread that platinum watches are quite heavy, is there much weight difference between the two Rolexes?

    Cheers

    Thanks.

I had a weigh-in (all sized for my wrist):

    DD 36mm - 213g
    OP 39mm - 125g
    5712 - 117g

And for comparison, the old 16610 is 133g

Yes, love JLC as a brand and thought this would be the one for me, but when I saw it in the flesh it didn't make my heart sing.....not sure what wasn't quite right about it....Maybe I have to look at it again.

I have a reverso and it's quite possibly one of my favs.

Is there a more beautiful blue dial chrono than the IWC Portugieser?

Thanks - that’s a significant difference, do you particularly notice it on the wrist?

Two watches I've really liked the look of for ages but never have the cash for:

Brellum Pandial Marina. Not handled one myself but I only ever hear great things.

    Tutima Saxon One.

John’s post above reminded me that I had this beauty for a short while. Bought off the forum and sold to a TZ’er so hopefully still in the fold. Was just a bit too dainty for me. Wish they did it in 40mm

    ....and a darker blue ....

It feels quite heavy when you first put it on, but you soon get used to it.

Stock photo - but this is a 2019 Zenith comes in at 41mm diameter- which fits the size you are looking for.

Might not tick all your boxes but what about Blancpain bathyscaphe? They're 43mm and there's a chrono version

Yes I tried to buy one of these LE with blue face, but actually settled for the black faced transatlantic which I love (and am currently wearing) as blue version is all polished steel and I fundamentally prefer brushed steel. Lovely watch and ticks the aviation box as well as being a flyback chrono. Very undervalued in my book.

Yes looked at this too, but 43mm is just( and only just) too big for me. Maybe I should have another look.

My two, both a similar price.

38.5mm but quite thick so feels more substantial. I am also really coming round to the smaller sizes.

some excellent suggestions on here - thanks everyone....I'm now, however, potentially even more undecided as to which, although now absolutely sure my next purchase will be blue dialled.
